Resolved How protect against invalid requests?

Thanks both. Do my best to get a hold of it UFHH01 ;-) I seem to be missing something ... I read that the max_retry counter is reset when the findtime expires. But is findtime also reset when an IP address gets banned? An example: Findtime = 30 minutes Bantime = 10 minutes Max-retry = 3 A...

Resolved How protect against invalid requests?

Thank you both! Interesting to see how 2 people can have such different opinions :-) One thing I didn't see mentioned about a bantime of 24 hours ... Personally I don't think that's a good idea because the recidive jail looks for recidive in a period of 24 hours. When we set a ban time to 24...

Resolved How protect against invalid requests?

Thanks UFHH01 Manually adding IP addresses was a tip of another member. I do agree it's very time consuming. I already installed and configured Fail2Ban. Problem is that it doesn't detect all of the spam messages. For example ... the plesk-panel jail works just great! When someone tries to...

    Resolved aps-cache task error

Thanks UFHH01 for the tips. I'll try and better my life :-) I don't see that "Mark Thread as Solved" link by the way.

    Resolved aps-cache task error

    >> I have to emphasize first that it is more logical to start a new topic thread, as opposed to mixing a lot of different topics in an existing topic thread. Sorry :( >> That will certainly not be the case, the host server (hosting the VPSes) will have enough bandwidth. Alright, clear :-) >>...

Resolved Error, what does it mean?

@IgorG Is "Start a Conversation" the appropriate way to send a PM? I can't find a "PM" button :-s

    Resolved aps-cache task error

Hi trialotto, >> You should not worry about other VPS (the host server and virtualization software take care of that). I understand that, but what I meant is ... if all of the VPS'es start connecting with the Plesk server at the exact same time (since the installations are all based on the...

    Resolved aps-cache task error

No marshmallows yet ;-) Alright, but what is "wrong" with my idea of changing the time of the daily task routine? (I assume this is only 1 tasks executing severl tasks?). It now starts every night at 4 o clock. I am on a VPS, so other VPS'es in the same datacenter will probably also start at...

    Resolved aps-cache task error

Yes please, thanks! (By the way ... could it cause any problems if you change a cronjob time?)

    Resolved aps-cache task error

Thanks trialotto, I will keep that in mind :-) One last thing, do you know if it's possible to change the time when the daily tasks are executed? I was thinking ... maybe all of the servers from my hosting company are trying to reach the Plesk server at the same time (since they are based on...

    Resolved aps-cache task error

    >> No, sorry.... I can't confirm that, because you didn't provide necessary informations about your operating system. Sorry ... I was talking about CentOS. >> Not at all. Plesk does not perform "yum" or "apt-get" ( aptitude ) updates. I understand. I didn't expect it to. I meant the Plesk...

    Resolved aps-cache task error

Thanks for your reply. Just to be sure ... the updating you are talking about is yum update correct? I already do that regurlarly so I should be good I assume? Can you please confirm? My Plesk updates are being performed automatically so that should be good as well? I just ran this command via...

Resolved Error, what does it mean?

Thanks, I restarted the server. UFHH01 now has also answered in the other topic. I'll keep an eye on it for the next days.

Resolved Error, what does it mean?

Thanks both for your responses. It is indeed a bit 'annoying' that the Plesk-crew doesn't answer these questions. I would assume that helping each other (by answering questions) is the purpose of a forum like this. I do want to emphasize that I do truly appreciate your efforts trialotto. It...

    Resolved aps-cache task error

YES!!!! I finally have a better log now. I will post the relevant lines. At first the aps-cache task seems ok, but later it seems to fail. I only post the relevant lines. This part seems ok: At the end it fails: As you can see it says "PleskFatalException: Operation too slow. Less than 500...

Last night, exactly the same in panel.log. Someone from Plesk-crew who can explains what is going on here?

Resolved Error, what does it mean?

Thanks Trialotto. I do think it's a bit strange since a "504" error code means "Gateway Timeout error". It looks like some sort of communication error :-s

Resolved Error, what does it mean?

This is the error that appears in panel.log with verbose logging level 7 enabled. What does it mean and what is causing it? (Or where should I look to find out what is causing this error?) I checked earlier and ka.plesk.com:5224 is pointing to the correct IP address.
