Issue Can kernel be updated in Centos without breaking Plesk.

A Centos/Plesk server of ours failed a PCI compliance test. The vulnerability cites a Linux 4.4 kernel, yet I'm running 3.1. Server Details: CentOS Linux release 7.8.2003 (Core) 18.0.29.3 Plesk Obsidian 18.0 CentOS Linux release 7.8.2003 (Core) Derived from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.8...

    Problem: Forum Loses Cookies?

For whatever reason, on Safari/Chrome, I can sometimes login to the forum, sometimes not. I'll be in one section, clearly logged in, then if I navigate to a specific forum, like Plesk Obsidian, my logged-in name changes to Login. I'm trying this by clearing Cookies in both browsers. Any ideas...

Question PCI Compliance, remediate Linux 4.4 CVE-2018, etc

Sorry, I was wondering if any sort of PCI compliance resolver or Plesk updates (open ssh perhaps) might address those CVEs. (Having trouble with the Plesk forum lately, or my browser forgetting cookies. I think a prior version of my post didn't go through)

    Question msmtp daemon

When using the Plesk External SMTP option (msmtp), is there a daemon that can be restarted should problems arise? I didn't see anything obvious running `ps -aux` or `service --status-all`

Issue Remove old warnings (Apache/server configuration warnings)

It's Wednesday, and Plesk is still showing Tuesday warnings. Running 'http -t' doesn't report current errors. Will these errors remove themselves after a particular duration? "New configuration files for the Apache web server were not created due to the errors in configuration templates: [Tue...

Question Turn off DNS Server (BIND)?

Thanks! My question was more basic: How would I know, with certainty, if BIND isn't utilized on a Plesk server? My assumption is I don't use it, but I don't want to make a noticeable mistake.

Question Turn off DNS Server (BIND)?

No crisis here, I was just curious if there is a clear explanation on when it is necessary to run DNS/Bind on a Plesk server. If a server hosts 30 domains, and all (via whois lookup) use their own DNS, whether it's GoDaddy or Network Solutions, is there any reason to use Plesk's DNS Service...

Question Does Plesk Obsidian require MariaDB 10.3?

..or can it work with 10.2? Here is my current setup: Centos 7.7, Plesk 17.8.11, MariaDb 10.2.3 ==== Attempting the latest Onyx updates (before attempting Obsidian), I received this warning: MariaDB-server-10.2.30-1.el7.centos.x86_64.rpm | 24 MB 00:00 Running...

Question Limit access to URL by IP address using nginx

Peter, How exactly do I turn of the Nginx proxy, but maintain Nginx as the web server for that domain? Seems if I disable the Reverse Proxy (nginx) Service in Plesk, I no longer get an 'Nginx' option when I select the PHP version for a domain.

Question Limit access to URL by IP address using nginx

Update: I do use the Reverse Proxy Server (nginx) setting on this Plesk server. Might my rules need to be adjusted to know about the local proxy IP and port? (I'm not sure what those would be)

Question Limit access to URL by IP address using nginx

I'm at my wits end on this one. I have a URL example.com/order-export I want access to that URL to be limited by IP address. When I make a physical Linux directory, order-export, the Nginx config below works: location = /order-export { allow 1.2.3.4; deny all; } Now, after I remove...

Question Install LetsEncrypt certificate on domain alias for which live domain is on a different server?

Would another option be: Buy an authentic (non-LetsEncrypt) wildcard cert to handle *.Staging.MyDomain.com, and just point each desired domain to that Wildcard in the Plesk settings? It's not free, of course, but maybe a tolerable annual expense.

Question Install LetsEncrypt certificate on domain alias for which live domain is on a different server?

I do have a wildcard LetsEncrypt for Staging.MyCompany.com, but that doesn't seem to work either.

Question Install LetsEncrypt certificate on domain alias for which live domain is on a different server?

We don't actually use a subdomain. McDonalds.com is the live production URL McDonalds.Staging.MyCompany.com is a domain alias, not a subdomain. But the error message is: Error: Could not issue a Let's Encrypt SSL/TLS certificate for McDonalds.com. Your domain in Plesk is hosted on the IP...

Question Install LetsEncrypt certificate on domain alias for which live domain is on a different server?

This may be a duplicate, but I haven't found the exact issue on different threads. As web developers, we may take on a new website such as 'McDonalds.com' (we wish!). Our first step is to install/clone that website to our Plesk staging server. I'll create a domain called McDonalds.com, but...

Issue Trouble upgrading Onyx 17.5.3 to 17.8.x on Centos

Thanks Tom! Just seems odd that installing the latest Stable Centos and Plesk, at the time, has created a situation where I can't upgrade without gutting the MySQL engine. That, or I'm missing something. Can hold off on the upgrade of course. But is the next revision of Plesk simply going to...

Issue Trouble upgrading Onyx 17.5.3 to 17.8.x on Centos

Is my situation that unique, though? It's merely a default 17.5.3 install (a recent one in fact), with very little efforts to customize things beyond the norm.

Issue Trouble upgrading Onyx 17.5.3 to 17.8.x on Centos

I've been trying to upgrade to the latest available Onyx on a CentOS machine hosted at Digital Ocean. Centos release: CentOS Linux release 7.5.1804 Upon upgrading, it seems to be able to complete everything except the MySQL->MariaDB. Is MariaDB a required component to make the upgrade to...

Issue Plesk reports proper backup size for some domains, but not all

Just a hunch. Because some domains on the server do report a backup size, I wonder if those domains that were migrated from another Plesk install are the issue.
