    IPv6 suggestions

@ jnarvaez: The reason you want to use shared IPv6 IP's is because you want to prevent your routing having to keep up with an enormous neighbor table (IPv6 ARP equivalent) if you have a dedicated IP per website. If you would, eg. host 25.000 websites your router will have to perform neighbour...

    Plesk Bug in latest release

Hi, We are running Plesk 11.5 with all updates installed on Debian Squeeze and Debian Wheezy machines. If we renew a SSL certificate we paste the new CRT data in the currently active certificate. So, we only overwrite the previous CRT data. WHen we do this, the new certificate data is not...

Failed to update Panel. 11.5.30 Update #30 ,

Then you either need to buy support from Parallels or get another ISP. OVH is ****.

Failed to update Panel. 11.5.30 Update #30 ,

You paid OVH, not Parallels. OVH is your point of contact. Not Parallels. Besides that, this is not a Parallels issue. Mismatching MD5 sum is either bad hardware, bad network connection or OVH is maybe using their own Plesk distribution servers which have corrupted files on them. Parallels...

Plesk allows username 'root' for MySQL databases.

There is a minor bug in Parallels Plesk (tested with 11.5) where regular users are allowed to create MySQL accounts with username 'root'. Obviously this account does not work, but no error is given by Plesk causing the customer to think he has done everything correctly. I feel certain...

    bug in server_dns CLI

You say Plesk 11.5 has no DKIM support, but it has. It is able to sign DKIM mail, and it publishes the key to the DNS. So DKIM seems to work fine, except for "server_dns". This seems like server_dns was forgotten when DKIM was implemented in Plesk. Also, although this is for me a DKIM related...

    Plesk 11.0.9 | Default DKIM

This is strange. So just because a feature requires system resources during creation, you just don't add the option to enable it by default? That is one strange argument. You might as well remove all options as everything will create some performance degradation. Each feature requires resources...

    bug in server_dns CLI

We use "server_dns" to configure a default DNS zonefile for new domains. I believe there is a shortcoming in this tool. The separator for this utility is the semicolon (;). This happens to be the same separator as for DKIM keys. You guessed it, I need to add a DKIM key to the default zonefile...

Failed to update Panel. 11.5.30 Update #30 ,

It can also be bad RAM, bad disk or bad hardware in general. I havent seen your issue on any of our Plesk machines, so it is not related to Plesk itself but must be something going on with your server. I think you need to contact OVH. Maybe try another server?

    Sort domains by traffic

In Plesk 11.5 (latest) I am unable to sort on 'Traffic' when I click on 'DOmains' as Administrator. The header 'Traffic' is not clickable. Is this my design or is there a bug in the template? It seems strange to me that I can sort on everything but Traffic.

    Changing subscription type returns error

I rather not. Tomcat is a bulky mess. However, I do feel this is a bug. I have uninstalled Tomcat using the autoinstaller, so it seems some Tomcat leftovers remain?

    Changing subscription type returns error

Yes, it seems it is looking for Tomcat, which was uninstalled months/years ago since the last customer using Tomcat moved elsewhere file: /opt/psa/admin/plib/Service/Agent/Transport/Local/Exec.php line: 38 code: 0 trace: #0 /opt/psa/admin/plib/Service/Agent/Transport/Local.php(60)...

    Changing subscription type returns error

I'm trying to change a physical hosting account to forwarding. When this is done in Plesk GUI it returns a red notification box saying "Error: " (yes, thats right, no error is displayed). The CLI returns: # bin/subscription -u example.net -hst_type std -target_url http://www.parallels.com/...
  19. T

Unable to change subscriber away from 'admin'.

Besides from the new owner having insufficient resources (eg. this new subscription would exceed the user's allowed number of domains) this error can also come from license limitations.

    integrate maldet

We use maldet on all our servers and we find it pretty useful. Sure, t has some false positives and some false negatives but all in all we find it very usefull to detect compromised websites. We often detect compromised websites before actual abuse is coming from them (eg. spam). It's true the...
