Plesk autoupdate and WHAM
Plesk autoupdated last night and the my customized settings have been overwritten.
Luckily, I kept notes from the last time I fixed this issue. If you need help, here's my notes from Plesk on Ubuntu...
This has NOTHING to do with misunderstanding the logic of how something works. I have been in communication with Parallels support for almost a month now without a solution to a bug that takes down my apache2 servive ANYTIME a client makes a change to their hosting preferences. Parallels support...
It would REALLY be nice to downgrade the 10.alpha release to a stable ver 9.x!
My specific issue has been elevated to Parallels second line of support without ANY solution... I used to have a server I could rely on day to day with uptimes greater than 4-6 months. Now I have a server that I'm...
arrrr
this is the sort of stuff a *class action lawsuit* is made from... we should be paid beta testers for making this jump. i can't believe this was ever released to the public. shame on me for foolishly upgrading.
I'm with you. We had a ton of *pissed* off customers as a result of this shoddy upgrade. When I first did the upgrade, it took me all night literally, left the server room at 3a.m. and returned the next day at 7 a.m. because apache was down again!
come on parallels, HELP US!!!
have you tried the command?
also, did you add parallels "patch" to /etc/init.d/apache2:
i've spent at least 24 hours on this problem. i recommend calling them and starting a paid support. parallels recognizes this is a problem with their code and will probably issue a refund for your $75...
Fwiw
FWIW, this appears to be a problem with ubuntu. not sure if it's specific to our server. anyhow, parallels sent me a patch file that didn't work. the above mentioned patch works about 25% of the time that any change is made to the server. parallels technicians tell me i should expect to...
It appears this *is* a problem with the Plesk code. If anyone is experiencing similar problems, here's a patch from Parallels.
------------------------------------------
To work around this issue, the apache binary file /etc/init.d/apache2 was modified. The following changes were inserted...
Who's at fault; customer or developer...
I thought you were asking for proof that they were working on my problem. Sometimes, It's difficult for me to understand your English.
My "proof" is the fact that my server, specifically the "Web Services" was running fine and without ANY ISSUES...
here's my email proof:
Why do you ask? It doesn't sound like I'm the only user who has a messed up server after upgrading to v10. AND NOW WE'RE FORCED TO PAY SO YOU CAN FIX IT... Seems like you're the glass shop throwing rocks through our windows and then we come to you so you can fix...
I've contacted the support team. I paid my $75 for a "Support Incident." This problem was created by Parallels and their shoddy upgrade. I have no clue as to why I'm forced to pay, when Parallels broke my machine. Oh yeh, my web service has been offline for about 6 hours now! This sucks!
jumping ship
Yes, cpanel is looking more attractive everyday. I went from having a stable server running version 6-9 and now with 10 I have to baby sit the machine. IMHO, Parallels, you blew it with this upgrade!
