    Fail2Ban Keeps Turning Off

    If the errors should show again: I had similar problems a while ago with fail2ban where reinstalling failed to fix the error. It turned out that when uninstalling, fail2ban left configuration files in /etc/fail2ban/, which were never overwritten on reinstall. When uninstalling it's best to...

    Another fail2ban Issue (FilterPyinotify)

    It's a disc error. I've just noticed that with the dbfile = memory setting fail2ban is actually creating a database file called 'memory' in the /root folder. So: dbfile = /var/lib/fail2ban/fail2ban.sqlite3 = disc I/O errors dbfile = memory = no errors. (but not in memory, in file /root/memory)...

    Do you have Plesk Firewall enabled? I believe you need this. Are you using a different firewall?

    Another fail2ban Issue (FilterPyinotify)

    I've been trying to help a member here with his fail2ban installation and after following advice from a more knowledgeable member I changed my own settings yesterday so fail2ban would use a disc based database, where previously I had it stored in memory. I woke this morning to a 25+GB logfile...

    Fail2Ban issues

    I found by experience that using a database file with a lot of domains, and therefore a lot of logs, causes quite a load in the form of disk reads/writes, slowing the whole server. It can actually get to such a load that fail2ban can stall (fail) - defeats the object. Reducing the database...

    Fail2Ban issues

    Stop the fail2ban service. Search /etc/fail2ban/fail2ban.conf for 'dbfile ='. Make that line read dbfile = memory then restart fail2ban. Settings and whitelisted IPs are stored in the various conf files. I believe he database stores the current bans as well as the relevant counts. So any...

    Fail2Ban issues

    Whitelisted IPs are stored in /etc/fail2ban/jail.local Would make sense just to download that file, uninstall fail2ban, clean up any errant files, install fail2ban, stop fail2ban, upload the file (overwriting preserves permissions) and finally start fail2ban. I did find (at a later date) that...

    Internat error after automatically plesk update Please help

    Login to the server via ssh using 'root' and the password sent to you. In the terminal console: # plesk repair installation If you are on 12.5.30 that should bring plesk back. Paste the log from that here if it doesn't work - it'll give some clues

    Does the subdomain show when you go via 'Subscriptions' rather than 'Domains'?

    how to disable phpinfo()

    I may have made a mistake. The way I read the OP I believed omexlu12 wanted a way to make the setting through the panel, not disable the function within plesk. Apologies if I was wrong.

    how to disable phpinfo()

    Just go to the PHP Settings for the domain and add this line to the Additional Directives: disable_functions = phpinfo Restart Apache - job done.

    Unable to access site after restoration from backup

    I see you're working on it as www.xswaar.me is working for me whereas the others give me the service unavailable. Did you delete the default index.html that was placed in your webroot by Plesk as that's what I'm seeing? Try www.xswaar.me/index.php. If that gives you what you want just delete...

    Problems With Transfer To Google Cloud Compute

    When making any changes to DNS or nameservers you have to wait for the changes to 'propagate' through the various nameservers. I believe a way around this is to set TTL to 0 before making any changes (untested).

    Requirements for Running PHP-FPM Handlers

    That is normal behaviour. If there are no domains set to use a particular PHP-FPM version then the option will be greyed out and will not start. If you move a domain to one of the greyed out versions you'll find it starts itself. This tripped me up and wasted a few hours when I first saw it...

    Best practice for adding Let's Encrypt subdomains

    I don't get this. I've just used let's encrypt (via plesk) to make a certificate for a subdomain and it works fine. Even the browser says the site is 'Verified by: Let's Encrypt'. Just use the extension to make a certificate for the subdomain and see if it works. Plesk 12.5.30 #18 on Ubuntu...

    Plesk's extensions: Anturis Monitoring and Admin-Ahead LMD Manager

    Nothing out of the ordinary but I'll consider your question and keep an eye on it. Certainly doesn't show in the top 20 CPU users. It does have 128MB allotted to it. As for the smtp use, you can easily change the check interval to make yourself happy. Not too bad on the default setting (3...

    Plesk's extensions: Anturis Monitoring and Admin-Ahead LMD Manager

    I'm only 3 days into using Anturis but so far I'm happy. It was throwing apache errors to start with, but seems to have settled a little after a change from 'FPM via apache' to 'FastCGI via apache'. Bear in mind it uses one domain from your licence. Totally happy with the functionality. I find...

    Fail2Ban issues

    If it's a configuration problem then simply reinstalling won't work unless you make sure the following directories are deleted: These are directories as placed in ubuntu, they may be elsewere (I'm not familiar with Cloudlinx) /var/lib/fail2ban /run/fail2ban /etc/fail2ban. Delete any stragglers...
