Limits for the resource type max_dom cannot be set

I'm not familiar with the API as we use Plesk integrated via PBAS. However, what does "<owner-id>11</owner-id>" relate to? Is this a Customer, or Reseller? Perhaps if it is a customer it needs to be a Reseller.

is this email legitimate? "Plesk - Critical Security Vulnerability"

It appears Blue Hornet are the company Parallels use to send out the mass emails. Check the Unsubscribe link in the footer you will see this is the same company. http://www.bluehornet.com/ also confirm that, so doesnt appear to be a problem with that. It would be nice to know more...

Strange text Error in Plesk interface

If you look at the "Settings" section of Plesk, then into "Mail Server Settings" and then the "Spam Filtering" tab, what do you see? You should see a box "Number of threads that spam filter can create". Is this greyed out and says "unavailable" next to it?

How do I use a wildcard certificate with subdomains?

It isnt possible to use SSL on a subdomain set up within the "Subdomains" section. However, you can create the subdomain at the "domains" level and you can then set up SSL this way. You would need a dedicated IP for each subdomain so it may not be possible depending how many IP's you have...

    mysql-devel issue

Personally I would simply install the RPM using the command I posted above. You currently have MySQL 5.5 installed using Parallels RPM. The installation of mysql-devel from the atomic repository is "5.1.59-1.el5.art", so version 5.1 of MySQL. This does not match the current installation...

Error when trying to rename domain

Lorenzo, Do you have RDP access to the server? If you do then you can install a utility called Unlocker. This will show you the process locking the file/folder and allow you to unlock it if you are sure that it is safe to do so. You could simply restart IIS to try and release any locks that...

    500 - Internal server error.

If you browse locally (via RDP) to the site, you should see the actual error message that IIS is generating. Alternatively use the site preview functionality and that should also show you the error. The error page should help identify the issue. I have seen a similar issue with Windows...

    mysql-devel issue

Jaffery, It looks like yum is trying to install version 5.0 of mysql-devel which failing because you have the Parallels build of MySQL 5.5 installed. You should be able to install the RPM using the following command (all on one line): rpm -i...

    http://kb.parallels.com/9436

Thierry, The first thing I would try is to ensure that your command prompt is within the PHP directory. So, at the command prompt cd to %plesk_dir%\Additional\pleskphp5\ Run the command again, and that should find the file! Paul

domain without www. not working in my plesk

Normally we see issues the other way round, the www box isnt checked by default and so the domain works without, but not with! Have you tried running the command listed towards the top of this KB article to reconfigure the domain in IIS? http://kb.odin.com/en/1367 Paul

PHP cookie across domain and subdomain

Sorry, forgot to mention in my last post - specific to PHP Sessions you need to set the cookie domain separately. An example is shown on this blog: http://www.madcarrot.co.uk/2005/08/pass_sessions_b.html Paul

PHP cookie across domain and subdomain

The issue you describe is not specific to Plesk - cookies cannot be accessed across domains. In PHP you should be able to set the cookie with the domain in the form of ".domain.com" and this will allow the main site, and subdomains to access the cookie. There is a section on the PHP site...

Mysql - connecting with admin user

Max, If you are logged into Plesk as the "admin" user then you can browse to the "Database Servers" section on the home screen, and access the phpMyAdmin interface at the admin level. You shouldnt have any issues managing tables from the databases, it shouldn't cause you any permissions...

Problem with SPF and DNS resolution

Chris, The "rcpthosts" error you mentioned is an odd one - that file lists all domains hosted on the server, so both users should have bounced with the same message! It may be an issue with the version you are running, but we are running a different version of the SPF checking - are you...

Problem with SPF and DNS resolution

Chris, We also have no issues with DNS - so I raised a ticket with support who confirmed this. They have advised that the senders SPF record starts "v=spf" which is incorrect - it should be "v=spf1" and that is the cause of the issue. I'm still waiting for our client to get this...

Problem with SPF and DNS resolution

We are seeing the same error as above "Error code: (26) DNS lookup failure" for some senders of emails. We are running Plesk 9.5.4 and I can perform an nslookup and a dig on the server and view the domains TXT records with no issues. Has anybody identified the cause of this, and more...

Do we have any news on Windows 2008 R2 support? I would like to look at using the R2 version as soon as possible.

Control panel stops working after a while

We are having the same issues with Plesk 8.2.0 for Windows, I have set the recycling properties of the application pool as suggested which appears to help, but does not fix the problems. If you need to login and take a look at one of the servers affected I will open a ticket, or do you guys...

    Plesk 8.2 with hmailserver BUG!

You would imagine so, but alot of clients do not understand all of the options, we see many that password protect the root of the site and ask why it pops up asking for a username to view the site, most enable all options (asp, .net, php) for a plain HTML site. I think adding too many options...
