I haven't been able to make a backup since the 8.0 upgrade on my Fedora Core 3 box.

Every time I try, I get this message.

Error: Unable create backup session: Specified file is not accessible

Any ideas?

The backup file location hast changed to /var/lib/psa/dumps in PLESK 8. Hope that helps!

I logged in and noticed an empty file with the correct backup name gets left in /var/lib/psa/dumps/tmp after every attempt.

I guess I will just image my server back to 7.5.4 since 8.0 seems to have more problems than just this one, and and swsoft doesn't seem to be in any hurry to fix it. I probably should have gone with cpanel.

I've got the exact same problem with 8.0.1.

As it stands I can't backup any domain from the control panel.

Anyone have some ideas?

Unable create backup session: Specified file is not accessible

hi there,

i am using plesk 8.01 via hosting company with full installation service. After upgrading to 8.01 the backup module doesn´t work. :)

My hosting support say, no problem, swsoft can solve the problem.

can anybody help with this problem????? I can´t start any backups. Local backup or FTP backup doesn´t work.

Unable create backup session: Specified file is not accessible

What is the Problem?? No automatic updater fix the problem.

PLEASE HELP! Server without backup is very very

First check the permissions on dumps directory - they should allow read/write for psaadm user.

Dumps directory is specified as DUMP_D variable in /etc/psa/psa.conf

Second - install all available updates for backup-manager

Thank you for your fast answer and help.

I check the "dump_d" directory. The dump_d directory:

drwxr-x--- 9 psaadm psaadm

I think that is right.

All update are installed via plesk updater.

In the dumps directory i can find this:

drwxr-x--- 9 psaadm psaadm 4096 2006-07-19 05:14 .
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 18 2006-03-01 10:57 ..

Unable create backup session: Specified file is not accessible

I got this error message when trying to setup FTP backup and the folder on the ftp backup server had not been created, and/or the ftp username and password were entered incorrectly in "FTP Properties".

drwx------ 21 root root 4096 2006-07-18 00:01 tmp

Chown it to psaadm:psaadm
