Expand isn't reporting any problems with CDNS but no domains using them are working. Doing a trace comes up with the following error:

"[None of your nameservers returned your NS records; they could be down or unreachable, or could all be lame nameservers]"

However Expand shows the DNS records correctly on both CDNS. Tried the 'Repair DNS Server' feature but that fails with the following:

    "Oct 25 2007 15:37:41 CDNSOp[:11754] DEBUG: ... restart bind

    Hi,

the DNS controller can't restart your named service by some reasons. Try to execute on your CDNS server:
    Code:
    /etc/init.d/named restart
And look in /var/log/messages for error details.

    Thanks girin,

I tried restarting Bind [ok] but it hasn't made any difference :(

Also looked at that messages file but I have no idea what I'm looking for!

    Sounds bad

    Lets try another way. Execute:
    Code:
    rndc stop
    service named start

Expand dnscontroller uses this method to restart bind.

Also make sure that you can do '/etc/init.d/named status'

    /M

    '/etc/init.d/named status' produced the following:

    number of zones: xxxx
    debug level: 0
    xfers running: 0
    xfers deferred: 0
    soa queries in progress: 0
    query logging is OFF
    server is up and running

The server looks like it is running OK but there is no response to any DNS queries for some reason. I notice that the number of zones on ns1 (master) does not match the number of zones on ns2 (slave). Both figures are incorrect according to the number of Plesk domains listed in Expand.

    Hello,

I am willing to pay someone for help on this matter as my domains have been down for weeks now :(

Expand shows no problems but CDNS is not working at all.

Have you tried to contact SWSoft and pay them to look at it?

If you send me your email in a PM I can try to help you out by comparing our own CDNS setup if you want.

    /M

    Hello SHGreg,

The problem can not be resolved by us unless our engineers can look at your hosts configuration in detail.

Please post a ticket to SWsoft support service providing your login credentials to Expand and Central DNS hosts.

Post please your ticket ID here (it is safe) so we can quickly find your ticket among others (as we do not know your real name) and track its status.

    Hi grau,

I have submitted a ticket #404128 but there was only space to enter one server details, please let me know how to provide the name server login information if it is required.

    Thank you.

You should have received an autoreply from from our support server. Just include your DNS server login credentials to your reply and send it. It will be attached to your ticket automatically. Then developers will check the issue and define if it is a problem of Plesk Expand software or just some system misconfiguration. If the probablem is not in Plesk Expand software, than you'd probably need to pay for problem resolution.

    Sincerely yours,
