    Hi all,

our centralized mailserver keeps being out of synch since the migrations. The manual firing of synch doesn't work:

Ho can we get Expand to be synched again? 16 of 20 Domains are out of synch.

    Regards,
    BLACKBIT

This is a information from support:

We've opened Plesk on Mail server (click "reload frame content" until the content is shown succesfully - that it also a consequence of heavy loading). Then we opened a client having that domain and added him an IP address manually (most probably it wasn't added automatically due to syncronization with mail server almost permanently fails, MySQL stops accepting connections from Plesk). The we've returned to Plesk Expand and tried to reload mail object until it succeeded.

    I hope it helps...

I am having this same problem, but the client domain does have a shared IP configured on the Plesk Linux server. I get "Sep 27 2007 17:18:05 MailSrvOp[:26176] ERR: General error: Unable to check ip address existing in ip pool: ip pool id is not defined." whenever I try to resync the domain.

    lsouth,

Which version of Expand are you using? I recall this being a problem in previous versions. Have you carefully examined all the IPs configurations and made sure they look correct?

    Hello,

the problem with IP can be quickly worked around if you login to your central mail server open a problem client and add him that ip address to the ip pool.

Excellent! That worked beautifully, I completely forgot we even had a Plesk CP on the mail server.

So now my problem is, that since the syncing hasn't worked in 6 months, we've manually created the domains on the server in Smartermail, so when I try to sync the domains, it complains that there is already a domain with the same pathname.

Is there any way to get it to query the mail server for the existing domains, or to override the 'directory exists' check?

I don't use Smartermail but here are one or two additional steps to try in your quest.

Please show us the log or exact error message that you're getting.

Secondly you might want to consider a reload. I've had to do this on my server when I have long outstanding sync issues. But before you do that please let someone else confirm this as a plan.

I should also mention we have about 8,000 email accounts hosted on this same instance of SmarterMail, that are not provisioned through Plesk as they are for a separate company. I cannot afford to lose these other accounts for any reason. Here is the relevant section of the error log, when I view the centralized mail domains and try to reload them all. I'm running Expand 2.1.2 on Linux, with 4 other Plesk servers.

OK well be careful. I don't know what the effect will be if you reload, and I have no idea how the other 8000 accounts you have on the server will be influenced. You might want to consider getting a specialist to look at the issue.
