change tmp directory

    while using plesk backup utilities,
    the /tmp directory filled up and cant hold the temp file.
    how can I change the /tmp to /var/tmp
    /tmp = 2G
    /var/tmp = 68G

    Move everything from /tmp to /var/tmp and then symlink /tmp to /var/tmp.

    I don't what my tmp to be left alone

    yes well, is it possible to tell plesk to use /var/tmp
    instead of /tmp ?

    I don't think that's possible. I'd go with the symlink.
