Hi
I am having a little problem adding ns1 and ns2 to the dns configuration

When i go add a new ns I see this

Add a DNS record
Enter domain name: ?? .bikerstalkonline.com.
Enter nameserver * : ??

Where you see the ?? what do i add there for the new NS1 to be created? I tried so many things but it won't create it for me.
Thanks

If you are trying to "create" the name server ns1.bikerstalkonline.com, you have to do that at the registrar where you have is registered.

If you want to add an "ns" record to your dns setttings for "mydomainname.com" then:

??.bikerstalkonline.com will be:
ns.bikerstalkonline.com
ns1.bikerstalkonline.com
ns2.bikerstalkonline.com
or whatever you created at the registrar

Enter nameserver * : ??

This is the domain name that you are adding the NS record to.

Hi
Thank you for your reply.

It worked out great for me and it everything looks ok.

Now today when I went to Godaddy to change the NS address I was not able to. I get this error.

Nameserver 1 has an invalid TLD.
Nameserver 2 has an invalid TLD.

What is this mean????

The IP adress I use for the DNS configuration must be Exclusive or can it stay Shared?

Thank you

It means that ns1.domainname.com and ns2.domainname.com has not been created.

Log in to GoDaddy
Click on "manage domains" to get your domain list
Click on the domain name that you want to use as the name servers. ( i.e. If you want to use ns1.thisdomain.com - then click on thisdomain.com )

On the right side, click on "Domain Host Summary"
Click on "Click here to see details or to modify" link

Create your NS1 and NS2 entries with associated ip address.
Save it.

Now your nameserver 1 and 2 will be valid

It can stay shared.

Hi
Thank you.

I also found out why I was getting invalid TLD at GoDaddy. It won't accept any new changes if it's pasted, had to be typed in there. I ended calling them up.

Thanks
