Does recommend the installation of the plesk 7.5.5??

Basic Pleskian
Hello,

After verifying several subjects here in the forum, I still didn't get the to arrive a conclusion if I should accomplish the upgrade of the plesk of 7.5.4 for 7.5.5.

Would like an opinion of who tried to accomplish is operation.

Does the system work well?

Is having some problem?

Some problem that most obtained?

What do you advise to do? To update or not?

Thank You

Sysber

I advise you to upgrade. Because only Plesk 7.5.5 backups and restores site applications properly.
But you can wait 7.5.6 which should have native support of ASP.NET 2.0

As for troubleshouting for your mentioned post:
___________________________
1.DNS settings reset to default values
2.MailEnable SMTP settings were reset
3.DrWeb major bug overcrowding SMTP outbound queue
4.SpamAssassin not working anymore with more than half of e-mail accounts
5.Still no support for SmarterStats

1. It seems, she swithched from one server to another, or she has external DNS
2. Default for Plesk MailEnable, just switch it to SmarterMail
3. Reapply Dr.WEB patch
4. Turn off SpamAssassin, SmarterMail uses integrated spam filter
5. It does support - take a look here:
http://www.swsoft.com/en/products/plesk75win/addons/

Also, as Gris mentioned, there is the light in the end of tunnel, upcoming Plesk 7.5.6 supports ASP.NET 2.0 :)

Yeah, this was mine fault (and it's HE not SHE). I've modified DNS settings manually, and after update, Plesk overwrited it... BTW, there should be an option in Plesk to configure "responsible person" email address in DNS.

Can't... all accounts @ MailEnable.

3. Reapply Dr.WEB patch
Yes, immediately... There are threads on this subject in this forum.

4. Turn off SpamAssassin, SmarterMail uses integrated spam filter
Not using SmarterStats... Payed SpamAssassin and expecting it to work.

It's not fully supported... when creating new hosting account, it's not automatically created in SmarterStats. You still have to do it manually.

Any one know when Plesk 7.5.6 with ASP.NET 2.0 support is coming out?

I don't know whu SWsoft is not forthcoming of the release date. They should know that their software is used by web hosting providers who need to stay competitive. We're losing so many potential customers simply because Plesk doesn't support ASP.NET 2.0 - this is a shame!

I accomplished the installation of ASP.NET 2.0 using the version 7.5.4. Is usually working, because in IIS it is available the two versions 1.1 and 2.0, for this I don't see problem in installing while Swsoft doesn't throw the new version.

I still didn't update for to 7.5.5 because I am not confident in this new version.

if we won't lose customers for delay of the swsoft. :D

If you still want to upgrade i suggest you wait till plesk 7.5.6 is released.

It should be released in the next two weeks...

I have already upgraded my Windows server without any problems...(from plesk 7.5.4 -> 7.5.6)

small problems but not really plesk related :)

About SpamAssassin issue:
1.If you don't use SmarterMail, the next guess -- you are using external antivirus. (If so pelase take care to exclude from scanning mail que, some antivirus does this like Symantec, some doesn't -- F-prot)

About Plesk 7.5.6
It will support AS.NET 2.0 or ASP.NET 1.1.43 on domain, not both, aslo there are some tricks to use both on one domain.

I let swsoft do the upgrade to 7.5.5. and It's running stable for us..

All of our Windows servers are running 7.5.5 with no problems at all.
