For some reason the domains in my server can resolves without no problem but I can't ping or tracert them. I get request timed out for all of them, anyone have an idea why?
Thanks

Are you using firewall ?
check that you allow ICMP - incoming echo request (ping)

Where I should check that ICMP - incoming echo request (ping) is set to Yes or Allowed?

Are you using Windows 2003 built in firewall - or RRAS ?
Or 3rd party firewall ?
did you try to ping you're IP addres directly ? (to check that it is not DNS issue)

I have Windows 2003 built in firewall. When I ping the IP of the server I get Request Timed Out too.

Go to control Panel -> Network Connection ->
Right Click -> Properties-> Advanced Tab -> Settings ->
ICMP Tab -> Check that Allow incoming echo request is checked...
Same applies if you're using RRAS.

Do you mean Right click on the Local Area Connection in Network connections then go to Properties for TCP/IP->Advanced,...etc?

I can't find that ICMP Tab anywhere.... I am kind of lost there.
BTW: I have Windows 2003 Web Edition, I am not sure if it could be related.

I enabled RRAS and follow this steps...

To enable ICMP router discovery, I went to
Routing and Remote Access
server name
IP Routing
General

In General Tab I select the Enable router discovery advertisements check box. Click Apply and I still can't Ping or Tracert...

Thanks for all your help, I think at least I am getting there...

allright,
first of all it is better to use RRAS the windows 2003 firewall
for howto configure RRAS to functio as Firewall
use this tutorial:
http://www.bganet.org/rras/rrassetup.htm
(To be honest i don't waht exctly you did with IP routing, I suggest restore it to ti previous state)
After you configure RRAS to function as firewall
diable the built in firewal of windows, you don't need both of them at the same time.
