Error creating mailboxes and mailman (can't have same name on 2 different domains?)

Hi,

I've a ... "big" problem !
It's happen when I try to create a news mailing list and a new mailbox, with the same name on two different domains.

Creating new mailbox :

mailbox 1: [email protected]
mailbox 2: [email protected]

Error : The mail name noc is already in the domain

That's happens when I try to create mailbox 2... but that's false !! there is no mailbox on this domain ...

I've got the same for mailing lists !
Like :

mailing list 1 = [email protected]
mailing list 2 = [email protected]

Strange, no ?

hmmm, no one know ?

maybe you can help me by telling where log files are ... ? (when plesk try to create mailbox)

in plesk go to
Server -> Mail -> "Names for POP3/IMAP mail accounts"

i think you have to chose "Only use of full POP3/IMAP mail accounts names is allowed" there ...

Thanks for your reply but the problem is'nt solved.

After your post, I change option to "Use of short (webmaster) and full ([email protected]) POP3/IMAP mail account names is allowed".

But when I try to create (again) a mailbox wich exist on another domain, I always have :
"Error: The mail name <name> is already in the domain"

From where this error come from ? (any log somewhere to debug that ?)

I've deleted my domain, an create it again...

Now same user@mailbox on different domains are working... Some days, I hate plesk ;)

But I always get problem for mailing list :
mailing list 1 = [email protected]
mailing list 2 = [email protected]

==> Can't create.

I use mailman 2.1.9 ... anyone can help me ?

HEllo,

There is no help in this case, unfortunately:

MAilman stores the mailing lists in one folder and it stores only by short name. So there is no difference between:

mailing list 1 = [email protected]
mailing list 2 = [email protected]

it will appear in the mailman folder like:

/var/mailman/lists/newsletter

No second newsletter can be created due to name conflict .
