Frontpage Extension - FC5

Accordingly to http://www.rtr.com/fpsupport/fp2000license.htm: "FPSE kits are no longer available for download and it cannot be distributed".

So, new installation of Plesk since 8.1 version will not have FPSE feature,
but if you upgraded from the previous Plesk version that had FPSE installed, it will work.
You can check this information also here:
http://kb.swsoft.com/article_44_1546_en.html

It is also specified in release notes of 8.1, for example:
http://download1.swsoft.com/Plesk/Plesk8.1/FedoraC5/psa-8.1.0-fc5.build81061226.14.i586.html
................
FrontPage Server Extensions are no longer shipped with Plesk. Therefore, after upgrading to Plesk 8.1, you will need to obtain and install FrontPage Server Extensions separately.
..................
FP support is still used in Plesk (such functionality was not removed),
it is just not shipped with Plesk anymore and SWsoft did not test it for
integrity with fresh OS updates. I even don't know where FPSE can be found in the world now, as their distribution is restricted, their usage is only allowed if they had been installed before this summer. I can only recommend that you to take FPSE RPMs from previous Plesk versions at ftp://download1.swsoft.com/Plesk/ and try to use them.

Alright, thanks for your answer. I could download and install frontpage-5.0-72psa.fc4.i586.rpm.

Now, I can see the options to setup the frontpage extension in the PSA Admin interface. But I can't get it to work properly: when I try to access FP Webadmin (http://www.domain.tld/_vti_bin/_vti_adm/fpadmcgi.exe?page=webadmin.htm), I get a 404.

In the logs of the concerned domain, I can see this:
------------------------------------
File does not exist: /var/www/vhosts/discovery.ch/httpdocs/_vti_bin/_vti_adm/fpadmcgi.exe
------------------------------------
And the needed file is located at:
/usr/local/frontpage/version5.0/exes/_vti_bin/_vti_adm/fpadmcgi.exe

When I try to open the website from Frontpage, it doesn't work also... And the logs show this error:
------------------------------------
File does not exist: /var/www/vhosts/discovery.ch/httpdocs/_vti_bin/shtml.exe
------------------------------------
And the needed file is located at:
/usr/local/frontpage/version5.0/exes/_vti_bin/shtml.exe

I've the same problem on another host with an updated version of Plesk (8.0 to 8.1 on a FC2). On this one, I didn't have to install the extension.

I think that I have to point domain.tld/_vti_bin/ to the frontpage installation directory (/usr/local/frontpage/version5.0/exes)... But I can't figure how to to this.

Any idea on how to resolve this problem?

************UPDATE************
Wooooooow! BIGGER PROBLEM... I thaught about restarting Apache, and then:
------------------------------------
$Starting httpd: httpd: Syntax error on line 205 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load /usr/lib/httpd/modules/mod_frontpage.so into server: /usr/lib/httpd/modules/mod_frontpage.so: undefined symbol: apr_filename_of_pathname
------------------------------------

It seems that Apache don't like the mod_frontpage.so...

Alright then... After searchin' & lookin' for informations, it looks like Apache 2.2.x doesn't support the actual FPSE module. And as said before, Frontpage is not supported anymore, so there will never be any Apache 2.2.x FPSE module. That's a shame!

In fact, there's still some HowTo's on how to install Frontpage Ext. on Apache2:
http://www.howtoforge.com/linux_apache2_frontpage2002

But it looks pretty tricky to get on a Plesk host... If somebody as a magic solution, thanks to make me know!

8.0 Frontpage to 8.1 Install

Hi,

is the 8.0.1 the latest version what shipped FP?

If yes - is there still a download option available for CentOS 4 i386 ?
