FTP and .htm Problem

Hi all there!

I have two major problems with my Plesk Installation on Suse.

The first is that all extentions such as .php and .html are working but not .htm. So if a client creates index.htm it won't show.

The second problem is with FTP Clients. I use a mac and have no problems with any MAC FTP Software but, when I use a Linux or Windows machine I can only use Filezilla to upload files, all other FTP Clients will time out.

yes right. if u upload a file called .htm it won't work only if u rename it as .html

I don't understand -what will not work? I've never seen an Apache installation not sending off the file to the browser no matter what kind of extension is used.

Do you have an example? Put the .htm file on a domain that's giving you the problems - then it's easier for us to check and see what's wrong.

He probably means it's not working as a DirectoryIndex, I think I had this problem with an earlier version of Plesk. Not sure how I fixed it, as I would've thought httpd.conf edits would be reverted when the webserver was updated.

Is this a recent version of Plesk?

I suspect that to - but that's not what he's writing. But the answer to that question is just to add index.htm to the DirectoryIndex in /path_to_psa/apache/conf/httpd.conf

And no! As far as I know (at least on FreeBSD) an upgrade won't revert that kind of changes. But if so - you of cause document your changes so you can follow up on them after an upgrade? ;-)

Who has the time? ;)

(Useful to know, and I think you may be right, thanks.)

thanks, that did it., so still need 2 work on the ftp issue, but guess a search will do the trick on that.

You could start by reading the thread I've already found for you...

And please - next time - try to be more specific in writing about your problems - it makes it a lot easier to suggest the correct solution to help you.
