Is it possible have plans that can be subscribed to (manually by admin) but not show up in the Online Store? It seems that in order to subscribe to a plan it has to be in a store and active.

Alternatively, is it possible to disable the store entirely yet still utilize subscription and billing capabilities?

    Hello rich_t,

Unfortunately it is not possible to manually add subscriptions from admin UI to the plans, which are not for sale in the online store. I could suggest three ways how to hide plans and be able to manually create subscriptions for them depending on the CBM version you are using:
    1) For CBM 11.0.9 you need to create new online store without plans and make it default by checking "Default Store" option in store settings.
    2) For CBM 11.1.X(preview version) you need to change branding settings in CBM admin UI to custom website by the following steps: All Settings -> Branding -> Edit URLs -> Change "External online store catalog URL" field value to the "http://yourwebsite.com" value for example. After the above actions all "Go to Store" links in PP and CBM client UI's should redirect to the "http://yourwebsite.com"
    3) For CBM 11.0.9 and 11.1.X you could create custom widget with a limited number of active plans and add this widget on your website. If you need to hide this store from customers then you could create new online store as it was described in step #1
