    Hello,

As owner of the server, how do I set permissions outside the httpdocs folder? I keep getting 550 error - permission denied. I created the directory under admin via command line. I use ImageFolio image gallery and I'm told:

I can't set folder permissions or even upload.

    Please help!

    There's 2 options for you

    1. SSH in as root and make the directory manually. Use chown to make the owner of the directory your FTP user. Then upload your files in.

    2. Put your files into the /tmp directory and point your program there. This directory lies outside of the web structure.

    Thanks Highland,

We were able to figure it out - ImageFolio doesn't need to reside outside httpdocs, so no need to go there.

Thanks for the advice, it may come in handy down the road.

    Regards,
    Greg
