How do you upgrade?

O

Guest
Current 4.1 user.
I'd like to upgrade to 4.2.

The Docs say
To install Plesk Sitebuilder using Autoinstaller:

1. Download the Autoinstaller package for your OS from Parallels web site.
2. Run and Autoinstaller and select the Sitebuilder 4.2.0 component.

I have a copy of the file on my desktop.
How do I "run" it?

Try to use instructions from these thread: http://forum.swsoft.com/showthread.php?t=51808
Actually, autoinstaller should be run manually on the server through command line interface. In nearest update documentation is corrected and updated and these docs soon will be updated on website. As for now, try to use instructions which I gave you and let me know about the results.

I am the owner of office master chairs company. I have my own server too but i want to know that how to install and upgrade the sitebuilder please help me

Thanks

Could you please attach here /tmp/autoinstaller3.log file? As I know this forum has some limitations for attachments, so change extension to .txt and attach this file here:

# cp /tmp/autoinstaller3.log /tmp/autoinstaller3.txt

I will check this file and probably get some more info concerning the possible reason for this issue.

d,
thanks for the help. pls see attached file.

Unfortunately, I did not find there anything useful. Could you also check or provide me with /etc/sysconfig/rhn/sources file and /var/log/yum.log. I need sources file and log file for 'yum' update utility. It seems to me something wrong with one of the sources...
As a workaround you can try to install all packages manually by running "rpm -Uhv <packages_list>" command.

i'd prefer to do the auto installer

D,

Here are the other files. I hope this helps.

.upgrade

How much do you charge to upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2?

I'm running: CENTOS Enterprise 4.6 i686

Your download is for 4.3.
The 404 error listed above shows me the 4.3 is depreciated.

http://mirror.centos.org/centos-4/4.3/readme
This directory (and version of CentOS) is depreciated. For normal users,
you should use /4/ and not /4.3/ in your path. Please see this FAQ
concerning the CentOS release scheme:

http://www.centos.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=34

If you know what you are doing, and absolutely want to remain at the 4.3
level, go to http://vault.centos.org/ for packages.

Can you pls adjust the package to call up 4 or 4.6 instead of 4.3?
Thanks.

I guess this is not Sitebuilder repository issue but CentOS one. Sitebuilder provides the same package for CentOS 4.x: sitebuilder-4.2.0-centos4. In this case autoinstaller tries to use CentOS repository for installing necessary system packages but repository is empty as not http://mirror.centos.org/centos-4/4.3/ URL should be used but http://mirror.centos.org/centos-4/4/. I suggest you download Sitebuilder tar ball from here: ftp://download1.swsoft.com/Sitebuilder/4.2.0/ and install it manually. Let me know how everything goes.

What is the procedure for a manual upgrade?
I'm running centos 4.6 so I assume this is the correct file.
sitebuilder-4.2.0-centos4.build08030317.tar.gz

I'm a little confused.... I got the auto installer but get the following at the end.... not sure what to do. (upgrading 4.0 to 4.2)

Show components for the product:

1. ( ) Plesk Control Panel
2. (*) Sitebuilder

Please select the components of Sitebuilder you want to install:
3. [*] SiteBuilder packages
4. [*] SiteBuilder modules
5. [*] SiteBuilder localization files
6. [*] SiteBuilder design templates
