Incoming emails fail?

Hi,

BIG problem with incoming emails to the server, they simply don't get delivered.

But, an email coming from another domain on the same server to the same email address does get delivered!

For example:

DomainA, DomainB are on the same Plesk and DomainC is on another server.

When DomainC emails DomainA the emails never gets delivered [and no errors are generated.] However, if DomainB emails DomainA the emails is delivered straight away.

Anyone have any ideas?

yes, something does not seem to work correctly.

can you post the ip and the domain names of a,b,c. then I can check what it is.

the domain in question is:

sianie.com (that can recieve emails from local server, but not from other servers)

mailserver on sianie.com is
220 ultra13.uk2net.com ESMTP UK2.NET - UK's Biggest Host Sat, 01 Jan 2005 17:04:
16 +0000
this is not the plesk server
ip is 69.93.240.146

can you the other servers ip and names communicate and as and where the servers are arranged (you write local what means that)

otherwise I cannot look for the error.

The domain is installed on a Plesk server at IP: 69.93.240.146

..not sure why your report on the domain is saying it's a uk2.net server?

local server means the same physical server.

have a look

open command windows
type:
telnet siane.com 25

I make now tests

i think the failure is in the dns entrie

WARNING: One or more of your mailservers may be claiming to be a host other than what it really is (the SMTP greeting should be a 3-digit code, followed by a space or a dash, then the host name). This probably won't cause any harm, but may be a technical violation of RFC821 4.3 (and RFC2821 4.3.1).

mail.sianie.com claims to be host lion.i-webserver.co.uk.

have you the same result with telnet ?

All of the domains have this result... such as rapsac.com

on which for a server you come if you with telnet connect ?

ps: please press post replay not quote

I come only over the IP on your server. over the name it does not go. an error in dns.
here the results:

telnet siane.com 25
220 ultra13.uk2net.com ESMTP UK2.NET - UK's Biggest Host Sun,

telnet 69.93.240.146 25
220 lion.i-webserver.co.uk ESMTP MailEnable Service, Version: 1.73

telnet mail.siane.com 25
220 ultra13.uk2net.com ESMTP UK2.NET - UK's Biggest Host Sun,

can you repeat this test from you. so we can compare the result. that is, because I am in another network range. which for results you have.

ps: Command Prompt - Taskbar>start>run>cmd(enter -command prompt window open)
type telnet siane.com 25 (enter - to connect then you see the server answer - QUIT - to leave

My results:

telnet siane.com 25
220 lion.i-webserver.co.uk ESMTP MailEnable Service, Version: 1.73

telnet 69.93.240.146 25
220 lion.i-webserver.co.uk ESMTP MailEnable Service, Version: 1.73

I'm confused why you're getting different results.

As above, the domain can recieve email from the same server, another domain on the same server, but not from another server.

something has itself changed since yesterday.
my results are different because I in another IP range are. you go over the local dns and get a wrong result
go to and trace your name
http://www.tracert.org/
and examine what in dns is wrong
