We're about to move our existing Expand 2.3.1 installation (CentOS 3) to a new server with Cent OS 5. Which is the smoothest way to do the migration?

My plan is to install a fresh Expand 2.3.1 on the new server, and after that do an exp-restore from the backup made on the legacy server.

Anything else that I should take into account? Will the restore include license files necessary? The hostname and IP will stay the same.

    Thanks.

It is right way. The restore does not include license files.

    Thanks for your reply Gold.

To restore the license, will it be sufficient to do a manual copy of the file etc/expand.key from the old server -> new server, and restart expand?

Yes, you can copy the license file manually.
