Im trying to upgrade mysql on my media temple dv server.

    Server info:
    [root@as src]# cat /proc/version
    Linux version 2.6.8-022stab070.9-enterprise (root@kern268.build.sw.ru) (gcc version 3.3.3 20040412 (Red Hat Linux 3.3.3-7)) #1 SMP Thu Apr 20 10:48:12 MSD 2006

Im trying to upgrade to mysql 4.1.x i have tried to install yum and get issues about problems with python...and im runing python 2.4.3.

But skip the small talk is there a simple and easy way to upgrade the mysql server?

I would also like to upgrade the php if possiable too?

    Many Thanks
