Just finshed installing plesk on a new centos 4.4 install. When I try to start DNS as a service i get the following error

ERROR: PleskFatalException
Create ShortcutCreate Shortcut
Up LevelUp Level
Unable to make action: Unable to manage service by dnsmng: dnsmng: Service /etc/init.d/named failed to start

0: /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/common_func.php3:155
psaerror(string 'Unable to make action: Unable to manage service by dnsmng: dnsmng: Service /etc/init.d/named failed to start')
1: /usr/local/psa/admin/htdocs/server/restart_services.php:

Manually runnning it shows this output.

[root@poseidon usbkey]# /etc/init.d/named start
Starting named: /bin/chown: cannot access `/var/named/run-root/var/named': No such file or directory

Error in named configuration:
none:0: open: /etc/named.conf: file not found
[FAILED]

I'd prefer not to hack plesk up if someone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it

On my machines /etc/named.conf is a symlink to /var/named/run-root/etc/named.conf. Try this:

Code:
# ln -s /var/named/run-root/etc/named.conf /etc/named.conf

Do you have bind-chroot installed? I believe updates of that package sometimes mess up this symlink. I believe you can do without bind-chroot.
