psarestore - freak error - URGENT

JLChafardet

Regular Pleskian
I have performed a psadump of the full server data yesterday.

after i restored the box where the domains run, i tested the restore (psarestore -f file -m file -s file)
and it worked just fine.

Now it says it does the restore, but it doesnt.

there are lots of data missing.

there are no erros on the psarestore log, only some drwebmng not restarting.

the files are 6.6 gb, and they doesnt restore that data even in dreams

have any one had an indea on how to fix or extract data from the psadump files?

regards,

also now i noticed this error.

heck and fix the subdomain: 'login.domain.tld'
login subdomain restoration is skipped.

it happens in almost all subdomains...

what can i do?

I need help, really need it.

the psarestore thing.

ok basic again brief

the disk usage for all the psadump files

(-b1500m)

file_aa file_ab file_ac file_ad file_ae .5 gb each.
[root@hve01 backup_server]# du -sh
6.6G .
[root@hve01 backup_server]#

when the restore is done,

home/httpd:

[root@hve01 httpd]# du -hs
1.2G .
[root@hve01 httpd]#

/var/qmail/mailnames:
[root@hve01 mailnames]# du -hs
20M .
[root@hve01 mailnames]#

Mysql dbs:
[root@hve01 mysql]# du -hs
73M .
[root@hve01 mysql]#

it is not ever in the live restoring the whole backup... dont know why.

Please i need all the help possible to restore my server, my clients will kill me soon if i dont manage to fix this.

regards,

What command are you using to restore? Are you sure there's no errors in the logs?

i noticed that i need to join the splited files

cat files_* | psarestore -f - | - -m ipmap -s shellmap.

the thing is that it is still skiping subdomains.

any ideas?

regards

the site data is back

The sites data is back.

Just missing the Subdomains....(hell important data on them)

What could have happened?

IT has to be there too in the psadumps. i am sure of it.

now i am trying to restore the subdomains by cheating the psarestore requesting to restore particular domains from the whole dump files.

i will keep this updated.

if you have a solution please tell me so i can stop working on non functional tryes.

regards,

no one?

There seems to be still problems, i have at least 3 domains out of over 90 that the restore didnt restored any data..... I need a hand, what can be done? how can i see if in the freaking backups is the data i need?

I am about to start crying lol yeah crying, i have over 2 days with this issue, and there still comes problems out.

All the help is apreciated.

regards,

I'm having a similar problem. Subdomains are being created but in most accounts, the files just plain aren't there.

This is possibly caused by the same problem.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

Please let me know as soon as you can.

Thanks,

Limedrink.

What is the command you used to backup and restore? I've found the backup utilities unreliable recently.

well maybe i am kinda late on the reply. lol. but i managed to solve the issue.

was n00bnes, i splited the damn dump, and wasnt merging it. ofcouse, it was recovering only some domains data.

well i learned a really good lesson. NEVER EVER SPLIT. i dont have problems with no splitting. at least my dumps are kinda small (never over 9GB) so, splitting is not a must, and i dont want to run into troubles when cat'ing the dump to merge it.

with no split
psadump/restore works flawless to me

In my case, I had missing conf directories, so the data wasn't even being backed up.

Re-dumped after I patched, and this time every account restored at a verbatim file size!

If anyone needs more info, let me know.

What patch?

We've having a similar issue, the Plesk backup doesn't seem to contain all data.

Thanks.

Wow that was a while ago...

This ONLY applies to the plesk 7.5 restore tools. I found it had a problem restoring the accounts that were missing the 'conf' directory on their subdomains. You need to create the directory manually and re-back up for each of the affected domains.

My memory is really blurry on what exactly happened.

Give it a shot.
