qmail-send #5.1.2 error

Hallo

When I send Email via Outlook to Qmail I get a serious problem.
qmail-send is not delivering all email although the addresses are OK when I send them as single address emails.

When I have more than 1 email address in the address line I get following error:
Hi. This is the qmail-send program at d793.nexlink.net.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<[email protected] >:
Sorry, I couldn't find any host named almobau.ch?. (#5.1.2)

<[email protected] >:
Sorry, I couldn't find any host named manpower.ch?. (#5.1.2)

and so on.

I have checked the DNS and checked resolv.conf as well as the setup in PLESK.

I have really tried everything but now I need a hint. Does someone know this problem?

Thanks
Heinz

Thanks for the response.

Unfortunately this doesn’t help. I have setup the DNS properly (I think). Here is a nslookup

nslookup -q=any wowoyo.ch
Server: cns3.bluewin.ch
Address: 195.186.1.108

Nicht autorisierte Antwort:
wowoyo.ch nameserver = dns.nexlink.ch
wowoyo.ch nameserver = d793.nexlink.net
wowoyo.ch MX preference = 0, mail exchanger = mail.wowoyo.ch
wowoyo.ch internet address = 80.86.201.154

d793.nexlink.net internet address = 80.86.201.154
dns.nexlink.ch internet address = 80.86.199.5
mail.wowoyo.ch internet address = 80.86.201.154

But the error with qmail-send is still the same. It words only with one address in the address line. I have tried it with Outlook and Horde.

Any ideas more?

Got a solution and found the reason!

OK, the problem is that Outlook and other Email programs are sometimes adding characters (spaces) to the end for the email address. You are not able to see them or you don’t recognize them.

Qmail is very, very sensitive on things which are not 100% OK.

For Outlook the solution is to export the address book into Excel. Open the XLS-File and check if the opening of the file has removed the spaces at the end of the email addresses.

IMPORTANT: You have to save the file to overwrite the original.

Import the Excel file into you address book and overwrite the old addresses. Check if the email addresses are correct now.

You will see that Qmail will act normally after this.
