i'm installing an appllcation from the application vault for a client. i have first created a subdomain named foro (forum in spanish). i have created foro.mcgap.org and selected from the dropdown menu as target domain in the application vault setup. then it requires me to enter a folder i would like to install to. by default it has forum. i deleted forum and put / assuming it would install directly into httpdocs. it doesn't seem to work that way. is their a way i can install to httpdocs directly without having to have an unncessary folder created. also, is their anyway i could use an existing database instead of the longnamed database it attempts to create.

The answer is no for both questions. You can not install in the root directory and you can not use an existing database with the application vault. This is possible with 4PSA Integrator, but for the database you can only change the name, you can not use one that was previously created.

Hardweb is correct, from Plesk itself you cannot install to the domain's docroot.

Using 4PSA's Integrator addon you can.

The alternative would be for you to use SSH and manually install it to the docroot.

yeah, i just wanted to save time by trying the vault system but i guess i was just being a little to lazy. it´s probably easier in the long run just installing it normally.

Vault systems can be nice, but even the 4PSA vault product has a few minor 'bugs' for some apps, which would still need manual config adjustments after the install, to even get to the app setup screens.
