Plesk uses Bind. The files are located at \plesk\admin\dns. You can edit the files there to affect how bind operates.

I searched the database and found the DNS template but it has no reference to the SOA.

Where did you edit this in 6.0? I would like to look to see if I can locate this variable. I am curious where it is pulling the template data from now, other than the basic stuff. :)
