Translation of some Menus

Where are the translation files located?

There is no Greek Language pack so I have to change some words by my own.
Where can i find the files and what should i change ?

See here:

/usr/local/psa/admin/plib/locales/en-US/messages_en-US.php

And for the control panel text, it's

/usr/local/psa/admin/plib/locales/en-US/conhelp_en-US.php

and there are 2 files for the Plesk Migration Manager stuff, they have '..._pmm_en-US' in their names.

So i got in there and I opened the file conhelp_en-US.php
The structure is like that :
'b_crontablist_show_all' => 'Show all tasks.',
'b_clienttrafficlist_search' => 'Enter a search pattern and click to find domains.',
'b_clienttrafficlist_show_all' => 'Show all domains.',
'b_comp_info' => 'Information on components.',

So if i change the second sentenced after the => "mpla mpla mpla" nothing bad will happen to plesk right ?

Interesting theme. Can you explain me, why all the other
language-folder with its files already exist there?

[root@me /]# cd /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/locales/
[root@me locales]# ls -l
total 104
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 ca-ES
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 de-DE
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 en-US
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 es-ES
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 fi-FI
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 fr-FR
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 it-IT
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 ja-JP
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 nl-NL
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 pl-PL
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 ru-RU
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 tr-TR
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 zh-CN

F.e, if I look into the folder de-DE, it shows you 2 files

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 5148 Feb 7 03:50 conhelp_pmm_de-DE.php
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6709 Feb 7 03:50 messages_pmm_de-DE.php

If I look in the folder en-US, it shows you 4 files

-rw-r--r-- 1 root psaadm 111134 Jan 27 22:24 conhelp_en-US.php
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4468 Feb 7 03:50 conhelp_pmm_en-US.php
-rw-r--r-- 1 root psaadm 191641 Jan 27 22:24 messages_en-US.php
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6293 Feb 7 03:50 messages_pmm_en-US.php

So, to install his own language and also to make active this
language, is it correct just only

1) download

conhelp_en-US.php
messages_en-US.ph

2) rename

conhelp_en-US.php --> conhelp_de-DE.php
messages_en-US.php --> messages_de-DE.php

3) translate

conhelp_de-DE.php
messages_de-DE.php

4) upload

conhelp_de-DE.php -->
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 de-DE

messages_de-DE.php -->
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 de-DE

5) chown

chown -c root:psaadm conhelp_de-DE.php
chown -c root:psaadm messages_de-DE.php

6) make it active at https://www.yourdomainname.tld:8443/

Hmm... no idea. Needn't there also be done anything in the
SQL under the table "psa"?

But I must say, 111134 Bytes for conhelp_en-US.php and
191641 Bytes for messages_en-US.php to translate it in
another language, that's much work.

vi -R conhelp_en-US.php
vi -R messages_en-US.php

I think, it is then more rentable to buy it for 99 USD at
plesk.com or to have a look around where this
conhelp_de-DE.php and messages_de-DE.php can be downloaded
(hmm?).

But back to the original question. Let's say, that I want to
have the "bavarian" language (BAY) which is spoken at the
world-famous Octoberfestival in Munich while drinking the
good old bavarian beer. YAP! You know my humor and my
sarcasmus, but sometimes Plesk really frustrate and you need
"a Mass" Beer then. And another "Mass" Beer. And another
"Mass" Beer. And another one. And... you sit nowaday
still in front of Plesk and there is no bavarian language
around here. Geez. It could happen then, that... *g* Hey, no
panic, that's very normal in Bavaria and the beer is
excellent. The big problem is only: If a northern german
comes to Bavaria (he is then a foreigner) and this guy has
also a Plesk-Server and want to admin his Plesk via the
Internet in Bavaria... at the Octoberfestival... while he drinks
the bavarian beer.... oh this will not have a good end. *lol* *gd&rvfa*

And so, the OP wants to have the greek language. And I
(seriously) also want to add the brasilian-portugese
language (BR) which does also not exist for PLESK.

Then I think, that there is much more to do but only with
these 5 steps before. Look:

drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 ca-ES
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 de-DE
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 en-US
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 es-ES
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 fi-FI
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 fr-FR
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 it-IT
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 ja-JP
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 nl-NL
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 pl-PL
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 ru-RU
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 tr-TR
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 27 12:45 zh-CN

As you see, you miss the folder

gr-GR
br-BR
bay-BAY

In such a case, you need to translate all the 4 files of

en-US
-rw-r--r-- 1 root psaadm 111134 Jan 27 22:24 conhelp_en-US.php
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4468 Feb 7 03:50 conhelp_pmm_en-US.php
-rw-r--r-- 1 root psaadm 191641 Jan 27 22:24 messages_en-US.php
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6293 Feb 7 03:50 messages_pmm_en-US.php

And then? Would it then be enough just only to create a new folder

gr-GR
br-BR
bay-BAY

and to upload these 4 translated and correct renamed files
into this folder? Hmmm... good question, need first to check
it out. Or do you already have any experience with that?
Thank you. E muito obrigado. :)

'b_add_new_category' => 'Δημιουργήστε τη νέα κατηγορία.',

I haven't tested and I must say, I am not sure if such
letters will not make any problems for Plesk. A good
idea would be to have a look how the other language
works, f.e. russian. Russian is easy for me.

'b_add_cert' => 'Add new certificate.',
'b_add_new_category' => 'Create new category.',

-->

'b_add_cert' => 'Добавьте новый сертификат.',
'b_add_new_category' => 'Создайте новую категорию.',

But if I check out the folder ru-RU, it says here f.e.

'migration_host_info' => " ",

1. The other languages already exist because someone already translated and provided the files to Plesk. I would guess that nobody has submitted the Greek translated files, nor the Brasilian Portugese language either.

2. If the Plesk install is already setup for us-EN, and you just edit the us-EN files, then you shouldn't have to make any other changes to the CP since it will already be looking at those files. (AFAIK)

3. As I posted earlier, the other 2 files with _pmm_ in the file names, would only be needed if you were to use the Migration Manager. If not, then you could leave those in english if you chose to do so.

4. As to why when you check the ru-RU folder it is showing you:

'migration_host_info' => "áòõôõýøѠþñ øÑÂхþôýþü хþÑÂтõ",

are you looking at it from a CL? My RH9 OS and desktop are all set at default (English) and when I view the files I can see the actual russian characters (same for the other languages) when I open the file with gedit.

5. I am assuming that Marios has already setup his OS for the proper base charset.

The idea is to translate to another language by yourself,
but at the same time, you are able to choose between
different languages before you will login to https://www.domain.tld.:8443/

Oh yes, that's correct. But I think, then you are not able to
choose between language if you surf to https://www.domain.tld.:8443/

Ah, thank you for your info. :)

Good point about selecting language at CP login, being a strictly one language host (all us-EN) I always forget about those details.... :=)

BTW because of your last posts: Before you will do _anything_
on your Plesk-server, you should always make a complete
backup of this machine. And download this backup to your
computer at home.

The best one idea would be, that you have a mirror-server
at home. It is a simple computer which is exact 1:1 the same
alike you run in the internet. You can call your mirror by
https://localhost:8443/ or https://172.0.1.2:8443/ and you
can play there as wild as you want. It is really worth to do
that and not so very expensive. Buy a cheap computer at
eBay for 50-100 USD or something like that.

BTW: Keep us informed here how you did it. Maybe it will be
possible to offer your greek-language-file for downloading?
This would be cool, thank you.
