I have a running copy of Plesk 8.1 for Windows.
Now I have to give clients IMAP access and I'm seeing for hMailServer.
How can I replace MailEnable Std 1.96 in Plesk with hMailServer?
Can I mantain email accounts yet configured in MailEnable std?
Will Plesk be able to manage email accounts?

Best regards

You should:
1. Stop MailEnable via Plesk > Server > Services Management
2. Install hMailServer
3. Go to Plesk > Server > Components Management and click button "Refresh" and next click button "Mail Server"
4. Select hMailServer and click "OK"

Yes, Plesk will import all email accounts from MailEnable to hMailServer.
But I have to warn that Plesk cannot import content of mailboxes.

Thanks for your tips,
I'm going to setup a machine with w2k3 and plesk and i'll try to switch from MailEnable std to hMailServer (after creating a lot of domains/accounts) before trying it in a production env.

Thanks again,

hi,

Ive followed the instructions on settting up hmailserver.

however when i try to select hmailserver in components manager it looks like this:

[greyed out] - hMailServer 4.3.1-B253 (not configured)

What do I have to configure?

Unfortunately Plesk for Windows does not support hMailServer 4.3 because they have made changes in API.
It will be fixed as soon as possible.

Just installed hMailServer 4.3.1 - Build 253 on Plesk 8.1.1 and is working fine.

Thanks to swsoft for upgrading plesk to support last stable hmail server release.

Is there any plans to add SquirrelMail support on plesk?

Squirrelmail would work only with IMAP. So if it is for windows, the default mailserver has to be HMailServer.

Horde do not have all its functions in Windows. So Squirrelmail is an welcome option.
Also the look of SquirrelMail can be changed completely by just a css file.

Not yet. What benefits SquirrelMail is compared to Horde IMP?

Main reason is, as bizstreet said, SquirrelMail user interface is easily configurable.

Please look at section Supported 3rd party components in Plesk 8.2 for Windows Release Notes.
