I just purchased a SQL Server 2005 and I need to install the with my Plesk and don't have a clue what Components I should install with SQL.

Here are the possible components:

-SQL Server Database Services
--Create a SQL Server failover cluster
-Analysis Services
--Create an Analysis Server failover cluster
-Reporting Services
-Notification Services
-Integration Services
-Workstation components, Books Online and development tools

Some info about my system:
Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition.
Latest Plesk for Windows Bondled with AntiVirus/AntiSpam and etc.
I haven't installed anything on my server yet and SQL is the first thing i would like to install and then Plesk.

Thanks,

Mike

Plesk need as minimum SQL Server Database Services.
I think that cluster is not required.
Workstation components, Books Online and development tools will help you.
If you plan to use Microsoft SQL Server DBMS support in Plesk, Microsoft SQL Server should be installed and configured to use standard or mixed security mode.

After install you should switch it to mixed mode to allow use of MSSQL own accounts.

thank you everyone. so basically i would only install the following:

-SQL Server Database Services
-Workstation components, Books Online and development tools

is that correct?

thanks

i did install sql server 2005 with "SQL Server Database Services" option only.

Do I need to enable anything from "Configure Surface Area for localhost"? Options are "Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connections" and "Surface Area Configuration for Features".

Please advice.

Thanks,

Mike
