please guide me on how to take (scheduled) backups from the backup manager tab in the Plesk dashboard, and what the pros and cons of it.
Is our system will slow during backups?

The speed depends on the level of compression, the task priority and the I/O priority. All of that can be set on the backup "Settings" page by the "admin" account of the server.
Low compression = faster
High compression = slower
High task priority value = lower speed of backup, higher speed of other services
Low task priority value = higher speed of backup, lower speed of other services
High I/O priority value = lower speed of backup, higher speed of other services
Low I/O priority value = higher speed of backup, lower speed of other services
