Issue Git extension error on CentOs

rootii

New Pleskian
Hello everyone,

I would need some help when trying to install Git extension on my Plesk environment which is installed on a CentOs 8 server.

When I'm trying to install the extension, I get the following error:

Could not install the Git extension
  • The execution of post-install.php has failed with the following message:
  • [2023-07-11 15:08:24.078] 1730482:64ad7068130e6 ERR [extension/git] Execution installer has failed with exit code 1, stdout: , stderr: ERROR:__main__: Package "plesk-git-http" is not available
  • Command ['yum', '-q', 'info', 'plesk-git-http'] finished with 1.
  • stdout:
  • stderr: Error: No matching Packages to list
  • exit status 1
Do you guys have any idea how I can fix this issue? Seems that plesk-git-http package is missing, but couldn't find a solution on Centos.

Thank you a lot!
Catalin

Could this be caused by the "end of life" of CentOS 8? I think there are no installer packages available for EOL operating systems.

I should have been more direct: No, CentOS 8 is end of life since December 31st, 2021, hence you cannot install new packages on it, because it is unsupported by Plesk. In order to solve the issue, please migrate to a new operating system, e.g. Alma 8.
