• The APS Catalog has been deprecated and removed from all Plesk Obsidian versions.
Applications already installed from the APS Catalog will continue working. However, Plesk will no longer provide support for APS applications.
  • Please be aware: with the Plesk Obsidian 18.0.78 release, the support for the ngx_pagespeed.so module will be deprecated and removed from the sw-nginx package.

Question How does Plesk handle OS updates?

Plesk Obsidian Version 18.0.59 Update #2,
Hi
This is a general question - I am trying to deepen my understanding. The question does not relate to a specific bug.

I understand that Plesk (if enabled) uses Yum to get system updates. This system may also update third-party components e.g. Apache or PHP. However; it seems it does not update the OS kernel. Plesk components are installed/updated separately through the installer.

So as I understand it the OS updates might be "software enhancements". Perhaps? Looking through a list on the RedHat site an example of an enhancement might be how SSL Certificates are managed. But; if the underlying OS changes, how does Plesk keep up to date with that e.g. take advantage of new OS enhancements and/or not break if something changes?

Thanks -
