    Solved it finally calls usermng, that calls samlib.dll samlib.dll is Security Accounts Manager Client which actually connects to windows.... so.. the answer is.. it is not only checking user xxx.. but also IUSR_xxx.... deleted the IUSR_xxxx and voila! subdomain created !

    progress: subdomain.exe calls "C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Plesk\admin\plib\cu\subdomain.php" --create subdomainname -domain domain.name -ftp_user native -login ftpuser -passwd ftppassword" but the file is protected. I don't see what's in there.

    when trying to add a subdomain, with a ftp user, it is saying "user xxx already exists" it is doing this after it failed creating the subdomain for some other reason and stopped in middle. I have tried to create with subdomain.exe and it says exactly same thing: An error occured...

    for anyone with the same problem, backup convert in plesk 8 is for linux. the pre9 exe file in windows converts directly from plesk 7 to plesk 9. No need for plesk 8 utility
