This is very relevant. If you work in a heterogeneous environment and run e.g. SANs or LUNs and this also as a cluster it becomes quite exhausting with hundreds of users.
With cPanel I can control where I want to store each client.
I see that the first request is from 2013 !!! and Plesk has done nothing. We suggest to change product because this is critical for a webhoster how has different storage devices in use and has to add more when needed.

I would appreciate to be able to freely choose the location of a web hosting client. Now everything is always stored in /var/www/vhosts/.
But if you have many customers it would be useful to be able to specify the location of the customer. For example on another partion or a storage path...

Yes I have already seen that. The question is actually how do I add additional apps to the list? In cPanel I can add apps for different service plans.
OK i have tried. But there are some apps. I have not selected any particular app in the service plan. Now I am wondering how to add new apps to this service plan? When I add apps to the admin page they are not available in any service plan. So how do I load an additional app to a service plan?
So, if I understand correctly, the user (customer) can install the apps themselves? I have created a test user, but do not see anywhere the possibility to install apps? Does the user need a special permission in the backend by the administrator?
