No it's more simple than you think, only one person has access to this email account, the account is up to now(2 years ) accessible through roundcube webmail and there is no account setup to any computer as POP3 or IMAP to any email client.

Server running debian 8.7 when i try service crond status i get the following crond.service Loaded: not-found (Reason: No such file or directory) Active: inactive (dead)

I have double checked that the Activate this backup task is checked if i type # grep backupmng /var/log/cron i get the message " grep: /var/log/cron: No such file or directory"

yes i have checked it and the file exists and it is not empty and i have checked the ownership and permissions

I checked the folders you mentioned and i found that there is no folder created after the 12th of January as it should be and if i enter a folder previous 12th of January and try to check the log files with the plesk log pmmcli.log command i get an error message Incorrect log file:'pmmcli.log"

finally , it was much easier than i thought , a simple search on the onyx administration panel and i remove it.
