because I'm running a plesk 12.5 server and i wanted to make sure if it was even possible to upgrade openssl within Plesk. Maybe there is a dependency issue, etc.

Unfortunately that does not work. I put a few domains on apache FPM but the problem still persists.

To simplify the problem, I ended up removing dovecot and going back to postfix. Problem solved.
