Ok, so we do a trick. (For Ubuntu and Debian)
I will use my old damaged Plesk Installation running on Ubuntu for DEMO (Proxmox QEMU):
1. Reboot Server
2. You should see GRUB Bootloader, Press "e"
3. You need to add on the end of the line what beginns with "linux /boot/vmlinux-(...)" this...

Upgrades to new Version of Ubuntu or of any System (Windows too...) can always go wrong, thats why Is better to always do a Backup before doing that.

Tools and Settings > Mail: Mail Server Settings
and from all option:
Tools and Settings > Mail: Spamfilter
It seems there should be some misconfiguration.
And: Is this a neu installation or the problem occured just randomly?

I did some lab research on my plesk "web admin edition".
Mail Accounts will stay even after you change from website to forwarding.
If you are unsure, you can do something like I do If there are still inportant data in webhost: Do forwarding via html code.
