• Hi, Pleskians! We are running a UX testing of our upcoming product intended for server management and monitoring.
We would like to invite you to have a call with us and have some fun checking our prototype. The agenda is pretty simple - we bring new design and some scenarios that you need to walk through and succeed. We will be watching and taking insights for further development of the design.
If you would like to participate, please use this link to book a meeting. We will sent the link to the clickable prototype at the meeting.
  • Our UX team believes in the in the power of direct feedback and would like to invite you to participate in interviews, tests, and surveys.
To stay in the loop and never miss an opportunity to share your thoughts, please subscribe to our UX research program. If you were previously part of the Plesk UX research program, please re-subscribe to continue receiving our invitations.

Question MariaDB 10.6 — MySQL Tuner Questions!

I have a relatively freshly-minted server running AlmaLinux 8.7, with 64GB RAM and a pair of terabyte SSDs. After updating to MariaDB 10.6.x, I configured the my.cnf file to represent a prior server with a similar setup: # # This group is read both both by the client and the server # use it...

    Resolved Upgrade to MariaDB 10.6

It’s a side effect of the MariaDB install. And I found the Plesk document with the fix. Get a grip please.

    Resolved Upgrade to MariaDB 10.6

One more thing: Is there a fix for this error in the backup log? Unable to make database dump. Error: Failed to exec mysqldump: Exit code: 2: WARNING: Forcing protocol to TCP due to option specification. Please explicitly state intended protocol. mysqldump: Got error: 1045: "Access denied...

    Resolved Upgrade to MariaDB 10.6

I will. How much of the MySQL Tuner report should I post?

    Resolved Upgrade to MariaDB 10.6

Thanks all. We're good now. Next: Can I get some advice on setting up MySQL Tuner and making the appropriate changes to my.cnf? I'll be happy to send the report to anyone who can render a bit of advice.

    Resolved Upgrade to MariaDB 10.6

I am reluctant to try anything that might impact the server. It’s newly minted. The only things I’ve done outside of Plesk updates and extensions are to install MySQL Tuner and this.

    Resolved Upgrade to MariaDB 10.6

    I used the MariaDB.repo file text from the Plesk instructions, changing 10.4 to 10.6. Got this: [root@server ~]# yum install MariaDB-server galera-4 MariaDB-client MariaDB-shared MariaDB-backup MariaDB-common MariaDB 441 kB/s | 658 kB 00:01...

    Resolved Upgrade to MariaDB 10.6

If done this install before on other servers and never encountered any trouble. Just this one.

    Resolved Upgrade to MariaDB 10.6

Got it to work: [mariadb]$ name = MariaDB$ baseurl = Index of https://mirror.mariadb.org/yum/10.6/centos8-amd64/$ gpgkey = https://yum.mariadb.org/RPM-GPG-KEY-MariaDB$ enabled=1$ module_hotfixes=1$ But I still get the same errors with the original base url and the one above.

I executed the command, and it returned me to the prompt without any result. The screenshot posted is the index of that folder in which the file is placed. /etc/yum.repos.d/MariaDB.repo

Doesn't see the file, but it IS in there.

    Resolved Upgrade to MariaDB 10.6

Oh and this: Index of /almalinux/8.7/AppStream/x86_64/os/Packages/ Doesn't list MariaDB 10.6. Latest is mariadb-10.5.16-2.module_el8.6.0+3072+3c630e87...> Or should I be using: /yum/10.6/centos8-amd64/rpms/ The failure seems to indicate the file couldn't be found.

    Resolved Upgrade to MariaDB 10.6

OK, we are mostly set here, but for this: yum install MariaDB-server galera-4 MariaDB-client MariaDB-shared MariaDB-backup MariaDB-common If I'm going to use the MariaDB.repo file configured as follows: # cat /etc/yum.repos.d/MariaDB.repo [mariadb] name = MariaDB baseurl = Index of...

    Resolved Upgrade to MariaDB 10.6

I went through every single file above and there is nothing mentioning MariaDB.

    Resolved Upgrade to MariaDB 10.6

Of course, this wouldn't be a problem if Plesk simply included an installer for the latest supported version of MariaDB in the control panel, just as cPanel does.
