  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    OpenSuSE 13.1 Support?

Well, obviously if we made this decision 3 or 5 months ago, then it would have been mentioned on the forum 3 or 5 months earlier. Though I am not sure it would have changed your reaction. May we would have just had this conversation earlier.

    OpenSuSE 13.1 Support?

Since we choose to communicate open at the forum, you can see here staff which hasn't been announced properly and formally yet. For the same reason you can see here statements which will later be revised because plans are being changed. If you would prefer formal and precise communication, I...

    OpenSuSE 13.1 Support?

Lets have it clear - this original topic was about OpenSuSE 13.1 and OpenSuSE 13.1 has already been delivered in Plesk 12.0. However over last several years we observed huge decline in SuSE servers. We questioned major infrastructure providers and they all agree. Thus now we are preparing...

    plesk 12.1.15 opensuse update

Thanks for the report. Actually very soon we will announce that Plesk 12.1 won't have SuSE support, that's probably why the problem occurred in 12.1 preview. We suggest to plan switching to Ubuntu/Debian/CentOS Regards

Hi Richard, Yes, we looking to rework this (as it causes some confusion for web as well). Just takes time. And thanks for filing a proposal at plesk.uservoice.com :)

    Mail Only Plesk Server

Hi, there is a technology limitation in Plesk currently - that "primary" domain shall have hosting in order to make extra domains. I understand it maybe inconvenient for the purpose of mail hosting, but after all, Plesk has been primarily designed for web. So you can either - make each domain a...

    Plesk problems in Clouds

So my comment from the other trhead was that Plesk VMs are commonly scaled up with resources and disk re-provisioning problem sounds unamiliar to me. Yes, sometimes in hardware setups data go on separate disk, but this is easily solved via mounting disk to a proper folder. If we talk about...

    AutoUpdater Problem

Hi @trialotto, A bit surprised with this impression. There are some "howto" questions, sure, but participants of that forum were the ones who filled http://ext.plesk.com, most of their extensions are live and functioning code. Maybe it is good software, yet we would start with contributors...

How to give users sftp access

You have SSH access for account owner only. It can be true shell or SFTP. Additional FTP users can use FTP or FTPS if allowed on the server, but not SSH. Difference between FTPS and SFTP is explained at http://kb.odin.com/en/122523

Permanently Ban Repeat IPs With fail2ban

You will need to add those IPs in your permanent firewall configuration. But there is a risk of losing legitimate traffic later - intruders will later drop those IPs and they will be returned to some "good" customer

    AutoUpdater Problem

That's not AppStore boom for sure, yet for a year since Extension Catalog was launched Plesk got 2x more extensions than for the 10 years before. People are easy to make custom script, but developing distributable soft is much less common unfortunately. There are still lots of areas to cover...

    AutoUpdater Problem

And we are really happy to see you back here! While we are not really going into open source, there is actually way to customize Plesk widely via its SDK. As you can see in the available extensions (https://ext.plesk.com/) - it allows a lot of various stuff implemented. There is some presence...

    AutoUpdater Problem

@trialloto, We are very thankful for this elaborated feedback. Yes, we do recognize the impact of small problems stacked over and over for several years. We were also reported by support teams in a number of hosting companies, that those broken configurations are often the cause of...

    Plesk backup NIGHTMARE !

Yes, the backup task can be quite time- and resource- consuming in case there is a lot of content to backup. This is why we are working on Incremental Backup (to backup only recent changes) and previously already did a number of smaller optimizations. The remote FTP can be an issue. i.e. low...
