  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk 11.5 Dns Problem First Time install

Yes. That's basically what you would normally do. You would not use your VPS control panel. You would use the control panel for the domain itself (provided by whoever you pay for the domain, even if it is also OVH) to do Step 1. This step is all about your main domain. You would not usually use...

Plesk 11.5 Dns Problem First Time install

Does this help? [This work is my copyright and may NOT be copied/used on another site without my permission. If I see it, or a derivative of it, anywhere else I will be very annoyed and will take the appropriate steps]. DNS and Plesk – a quick overview If you want to use your Plesk...

plesk 10.4 (after renovation) problem to pop3

There are many things to check. Check POP3 settings in Mail section of Tools & Settings -- full username required? Pop-before-relay switched off? Check secure/encryption settings in Outlook. Compare with Mac clients. *** Check maillog for actual error. /usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog for...

    Changing vhost mysql settings

You cannot have per-vhost settings for MySQL as far as I'm aware. Restarting plesk doesn't usually restart MySQL unless you use "service psa stopall" (followed by "service psa start"). It would be better to simply restart MySQL with "service mysqld restart". This will cause any changes you...

    Yum excludes, plesk 11.5.

Not really. It dates back to 2008. There's no need to exclude anything and at any rate excluding kernel updates is a bad thing. I think this KB was trying to be helpful at the time, when people were having problems if they had sendmail/bind-chroot and caching-nameserver installed before...

open_basedir restriction in effect on Cron Jobs on VPS 123-reg

You need this: http://kb.parallels.com/en/113861 for Plesk 10.x and later (i.e. 11.x) You should not bother with vhosts.conf or anything like that. You need to make changes in the PHP tab (website scripting and security) in the panel, or by editing the domain's php.ini Nothing you do will help...

    Rsync

Just create a backup of the single site, and import on the other server. No rsync. You should not have any timeout problems with rsync. Check port 22 is open on source server. Manually ssh from destination server to source server (and vice versa, just in case) to check. You may also like...

    Parrallels Plesk on AWS

Unfortunately, no. Load balancing is more complex than it might appear. You need to have your databases constantly in sync, as well as all the rest of the contents of the filesystem (imagine two people logged in the Plesk on different instances, each making a change to the Plesk DB. How do you...

Trying to block direct access to a drupal URL

you seem to be missing a . before the org and the nz. Also this doesn't belong in vhost.conf, it belongs in an .htaccess - maybe that's the problem?

Switch from Apache Module to fastcgi PEAR stopped working

Be careful with the actual php.ini file, which I think can be overwritten (or rather recreated) under some circumstances. I'd stick to using the Plesk GUI if possible. Alternatively, try making an unimportant change in the plesk GUI to the php default settings and then make sure the changes you...

    Problems after migration.

It is very important that you understand the difference between a Domain and a Subscription in order to get to grips with Plesk 11.x (and 10.x). It can be difficult to grasp at first, but it really is very easy indeed once you "get it" :-) It boils down to this: In earlier versions of Plesk...

Scheduled Task: executing php -f ... does not work anymore

I do not like enabling any sort of shell for a hosting user, even if it is "me". Does this script not allow you to wget or curl foo.php instead of running it directly? I so dislike scripts that want you to run things directly, because they are not suited to a shared hosting environment...

Switch from Apache Module to fastcgi PEAR stopped working

This is Plesk 11.x? If so, you should use the "include path" option in the php tab (Website scripting and security section) where you just enter the include path you want with the same syntax as you would in php.ini. If you want to configure options that are not shown, use the "additional...

    External Mail Relay

Are these two domains in separate Subscriptions? They must be in separate Subscriptions since enabling/disabling the mail service for the primary (first) domain in a Subscription affects all other subscriptions. Plesk will ONLY treat a domain as local for email if the mail service for that...

SPF record/reverse DNS problem on second IP

Correct. Basically rDNS is controlled by strato, in their DNS records, so they will need to implement the changes in one way or another. Some co-lo/server rental companies allow the rDNS to be adjusted directly by the customer through a control panel of some sort. This is the case with us, for...

SPF record/reverse DNS problem on second IP

Scott: You said the reverse DNS for both IPs resolves to maindomain.co.uk -- well, that's your problem. You need to get whoever provides your IPs to change the second IP to resolve to seconddomain mschwendtner: You cannot control rDNS from Plesk. rDNS is typically configured by whoever...

External Email not routed - where can I find it local

Unfortunately the mail will be lost if it is not still in the queue. I don't know what Ubuntu uses for the default "from" from a webscript, but on Centos and similar it is anonymous@ or nobody@ or similar. The mail from this user gets sent to the non-existent mailbox, which bounces it back. And...

Resolved DNS Problem (BIND) with CentOs 6.x

The is very interesting. bind-chroot has been a problem since 8.6 and needed to be removed because although it was OK to have it installed when Plesk was installed, when that package was ever updated it screwed up Plesk's configuration of named. If I remember correctly, in one of the more...

    Plesk Migration Manager

No, Migration Manager does not touch any data on your old server. It just copies it to the new one. Are you sure you were looking at the old sites on the old server and not still looking at the new ones? Maybe look at your php.ini and make sure there's nothing significantly different on the new...
