  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    Issue DNSSEC creation leaves website Zones/DNS unsigned, and it's not clear what is needed to be done

    Hi, Plesk offers a feature of DNSSEC to sign the existing DNS records. When activating it, one gets 4 DS records, and two public keys (DNSKEY). There are NO instructions what so ever on Plesk , what to do with those. And it's not the process is completed... According to this erbsite, test...

    dnssec-enable + filter-aaaa-on-v4 yes; used in /etc/bind/named.conf.options while a new string should be used: dnssec-validation yes;

    The file missing was: /etc/named-user-options.conf That file is called as "include" in the service main configuration file. I have seen it's a "known" error, as there is a Plesk KB article for it. This was not considered a BUG although it should.

    dnssec-enable + filter-aaaa-on-v4 yes; used in /etc/bind/named.conf.options while a new string should be used: dnssec-validation yes;

    The bind service status was failed. I had the data provided in the Plesk server, coming from Plesk. Those values were causing the BIND service not to start. My Plesk server was installed on 2018. Possibly BIND was never activated... And remained for some reason on an old version. As you could...

    Question Change DKIM signature prefix

    To my understanding you can change (or add) a selector instead of the Plesk 'default' and also add that selector as file name near 'default' file_name which contains the private.key, on the Plesk server. What I'm not sure about is, would postfix fetch not only the 'default' selector key when...

    Question Plesk notification emails SMTP

    Regarding: FROM_DOMAIN is not the email address. This is coming to have the originating domain being reported as FROM DOMAIN when using an external email service as AWS SES, instead of their AWS domain being reported.

    Issue dkim mail is not signed

    A post I have posted here, regarding DKIM not signing Plesk server notification emails was deleted, as if it contained wrong information. Information is fully correct, and even if mail is enabled for server, and DKIM as well, Plesk server notifications are not signed.

    Question Possible BUG / Has Plesk CHANGED the Plesk Fire Wall data base configuration, and if so, what is the new one?

    Hi, I was using the Plesk Fire Wall for several years. Few days ago, I have failed an attempt to update it. The Plesk Fire Wall crashed after that attempt. At first I have restored an AWS Snap Shot. The Fire Wall updated crashed again. To the best of my memory at that stage of the second...

    Outgoing email messages not DKIM signed when enabled for a domain and in server settings

    Hi Peter Debik, As for you question: May I ask, if diverting all Postfix created emails to be sent via an AWS SES SMTP existing service, would solve the No DKIM issue, by passing the emails on the Plesk server to a different mail generation channel which DOES involve DKIM signing? And if so...

    Question Could it be DKIM be set for domain example.com, would not work for mail-server mail.example.com?

    Hi, As default configuration, I have DKIM set with 'default' selector on the domain example.com. I have recently received a DMARC report from mail.ru claiming an IP in Russia was able to send an email which had SPF failure, however DKIM pass. On our server example.com, the sub-domain...

    Question PTR value part of email SPF configuration

    Hi, According to this post, PTR could part of the SPF. This is a reverse DNS chackup to the best of my understanding. May I ask if it's automatically supported by a Plesk server? Only on shared hosting? And if not, what should be done: 1) To achieve the value (hosting provider service? CLI?)...

    Question Is Plesk Email SRS fully configured, or it requires an extension?

    Hi, From the this post, it seems like, that even if using Plesk Postfix service, which according to Plesk comes built-in with SRS Email configuration, an extnesion for the code might be required to support some more use caes: May I ask if it's still so?

    Outgoing email messages not DKIM signed when enabled for a domain and in server settings

    Hi Peter, Regarding: There are articles out there, regarding manually adding DKIM to PHPMailer and Posfix. It's up to Plesk, IMHO, to provide a tool/way to do so. Regarding: I'll do so. However I find it VERY strange, as Plesk notification not having DKIM, causes problems to users in...

    Question Plesk notification emails SMTP

    Hi Peter Debik, I mean the way the Plesk server generates the notification emails it creates and sends, is out of admin's control. I could find no way / server location to manually configure the generation of those emails to. What I would wish is the ability as an admin, to: 1) include...

    Outgoing email messages not DKIM signed when enabled for a domain and in server settings

    Plus... One should ask himself, how could a services as Fail2Ban, and the PHPMailer get to send emails which get DKIM signed, according to configuration of webmail "Amazon" (?) and 'SSL/TLS certificate for webmail' and 'SSL/TLS certificate for mail', HOWEVER the Plesk system notification...

    Outgoing email messages not DKIM signed when enabled for a domain and in server settings

    It's possible I found a second related Plesk BUG. Although the mail server for the domain is set for 'Disabled for incoming mail', the mail server seems to be OFF. It seems like the implementation of "Disabled for incoming mail" is ill configured, and it turn OFF the mail server, thus not...
