What's your current Plesk version and operation system? Plesk has been switched to MariaDB.
On Plesk 12.5, latest update, Debian 8.4:

I really understand your issue with the Parallels/Plesk support. I have the same issue that I cannot get direct support from them because I got a Plesk license over a reseller (datacenter) who does not like to give me any support for it.

The latest PHP version in Plesk 12.5 is currently version 7.0.5. Please update the plesk php package to version 7.0.6.

In the Update & Upgrade settings of Plesk "DNS" was not selected (red, not installed). I've selected it so the online tool installed it on my server. Now it works fine!
DNS was not installed over Plesk. But bind9 was installed. lol?
Installed it again - now it works.
I think there should be a better check if DNS is really installed.
Because I do not understand where I could submit a bug report I'll write it here. I have a valid Plesk license from the datacenter (not directly from Odin/Plesk).
