Dear Pleskians! The Plesk Forum will be undergoing scheduled maintenance on Monday, 7th of July, at 9:00 AM UTC. The expected maintenance window is 2 hours.
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding on the matter.
Thanks, but I can do it manually if I want to.
It seems to me this should have been separate by design in the first place (or at least the option to split like you would do playing blackjack)
I also see it done for WiFi-credentials on dual-radio AP's
For years now I've been using the "new" Plesk migration which makes it possible to resync and migrate several domains at once.
I renew servers every 3 years and have been using that migration since its adoption and I love it a lot.
I see it as the best improvement in Plesk this decade.
This...
I recently installed a new Plesk Obsidian server and started to migrate clients to this new server.
One of those clients called me and told me that her Outlook was not working.
It of course had to be related to that migration, but she wasn't the first to be migrated there and others were working...
I just finished a new 18.04 Ubuntu install of Plesk. I don't expect any support for it within a month.
If it does, I will reinstall the server using Ubuntu 20
I have a Plesk server which I use as authoritative server for all my clients. On my other Plesk servers I have not installed the DNS-option of Plesk.
The advantage of this is that I have all DNS in one place which also allows me to do some creative things.
On that server, ns6.<mydomain>, I have...
I have a few 16.04 LTS's I would like to replace. Hopefully the support for it comes soon.
I prefer not to take a new 18.04 LTS now as it will expire in 2023, although I'm considering to do so anyhow.
@IgorG you have explicitly stated there is no ETA yet. Which is fine. But could you maybe...
mmm, not really.
It's a dirty hack and if you understand what it's doing you can implement it as well.
I did it to keep that customer in our DNS-system. In the long run they will be leaving the service that forces them to use this system.
I think those services are unethical by implying that...
that post is 3 years old!!!
Read here the definition of necroposting and why you shouldn't do it:
https://en.scratch-wiki.info/wiki/Necropost
on top of that it's not an answer to his question.
Now that post is brought back from the dead I can add some extra info.
In the mean time Plesk has...
I have created my own autodiscovery a few years ago and it's working fine. At the time I researched the mechanism extensively, especially because I needed to create my own PHP-script to provide the autodiscover.xml for Outlook.
As I have no problems with my autodiscovery I also never needed to...
I did a test yesterday, but it was inconclusive. I ended up setting the interval to 0, which seemed to be the only way to get roundcube to appear without doing any manual restarts. I decided to test it another day.
I removed the blabla7.com domain yesterday and today I made sure that graceful...
I changed the restart value to 60, but also enabled "graceful restart".
Roundcube became available immediately after enabling it (not after a minute).
I then changed the restart value back to 1800
I expected it to work properly then, but it didn't.
Changing the value to 60 didn't make webmail...
It's 1800 on the servers where I have this problem and 0 on those that don't have the problem.
~# plesk bin server_pref -s | grep restart-apache
restart-apache: 0
Should I change the value to 180 (3 minutes) on those those servers that are now set to 1800?
No, I don't have that installed
No, no errors there. Only failed IMAP-logins from harvesters.
I patched my local hosts-file to do some experimenting....
If I add the subscription "blabla7.com", the server is configured to give a domain without webmail enabled.
This means that http://webmail.blabla7.com will give me Plesk's...
I have noticed this several times when I add a new subscription.
The Roundcube-webmail doesn't work after that. I will get a Plesk-page.
A "plex repair web <domain> -y -v" does not fix it either.
A "/etc/init.d/apache2 restart" however DOES fix it.
It's an annoyance only, but something that...
I configured some of the 3CX-servers to back-up locally, but several were still configured to back-up using FTP.
Only recently did I notice that all those back-ups became successful.
Nothing happened in these 2 years...
At first I thought that this was due to a change of ProFTPd on my server...
Several years I created a script to check the domains for which I'm running authoritative DNS.
This includes checking the IP's in "allow-transfer" for each domain to see if they can successfully resolve the A-record.
It's been a while that I ran this script.
I have 1 Plesk-server dedicated to...
One of our clients had a full mailbox.
I decided to increase the default mailbox size of that subscription from 12 GB to 15 GB.
I did this quite often in the past.
After increasing the size in "subscription" I always check the mailbox account again and the "red bars" that were there before...
@Anthony
I was not describing how Plesk has implemented autodiscovery. I have implemented autodiscovery 2 years ago myself and I do not plan changing that to Plesk's system.
The buggy autodiscovery process applies exactly the same on your as on my system. It's done conceptually wrong and is...
If you want to prove it does what you say, you can turn logging on at your DNS-server after setting TTL to 1 minute.
You would then prove the behaviour of your version of outlook. I noticed a lot of changes in the autodiscovery behaviour in the latest Outlook. Even minor versions
