On Plesk for Linux mod_status is disabled on upgrades to improve Apache security. This is a one-time operation that occurs during an upgrade. You can manually enable mod_status later if needed.
does anyone else get these 499 codes?
update: the client (gets a "the domain.com took too long to repond") message in the browser?
I believe this is related to the 499 codes?
there is an issue, but not sure how or where or how to help my client?
do i say its your fault?
is there something...
so i figured out the "reason", but not the cause.
the preview links that showed up in the SERPs were 3 links to the sites from my website, where I host plesk. HOWEVER...
obviously I did not, no way, no how... "add or create" those links.
somehow, when I migrated to plesk onyx .... "something...
FYI. the fix is not fixed on Onyx (linux).... and it makes no sense to add a noindex tag on a live site.
the preview site just SHOULD NOT be showing up in SERPs :(
hello... this has been one LONG learning process and maybe this is the final exam? LOL
note: this is all meant to be "Plesk Defaults" --- no custom config, except where noted
1) to run nginx (besides installing it, etc), use either one of these settings
on PHP settings page: use FPM...
Why has it been so long since Plesk Mobile app (the app to manage plesk on cell phone)... has been updated.
I think the last update was in 2015? Really?
I see that it still works good, okay, well for onyx on my S7... but the events page says my dovecot is not running (which it is) :)
OR maybe...
long story short...
1) i don't believe all rules work for nginx.... i've talked to atomicorp -- call them :)
2) atomicorp says nginx does work well with ASL, not so much for WAF
hello.... i've had a few discussions with people at Atomicorp.
I'm trying to find out WHAT or HOW Plesk is dealing with atomicorp rules for nginx.
atomicorp says: rules for apache are very stable. rules for nginx are beta?
While ASL for nginx is supported.... what does Plesk say about...
https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/213953765
PS. yes... it would be awesome if Plesk would have a paid "support" guy manning these forms...
I just can't figure out why the don't?
hello,
this is in general, what should I "check for" or what plesk server settings should I be concerned about to get the most performance on my server....
AS OPPOSED TO, setting that can be done in wp-config.php on the WP install?
things mentioned here...
yes :)
so I created the sub domain and installed WP there. FYI. I do use duplicator and like it.
all works as expected...
at first, I was thinking a sub.domain.com would not = dommain.com, but at end of day... its just a variable.
thanks
so thinking...
if I went with subdomain, maybe I will not have issues? I guess after all... the root domain is "set" in the database... its just used as a variable... right?
o_O:confused:
thanks for the links, ideas, tips, etc.
here are some issues/problems?
1) a 'valid' example or legit reason to solve this problem is a 'staging blog'
example: domain.com = root is live WP install
domain.com/stage/ = a copy of the root install, so you can test
NOTE: using a sub domain or...
so here is another description of my problem:
http://community.rtcamp.com/t/accessing-non-wordpress-directory-in-website-root/1009/5
my thoughts:
1) because of defaults and that I don't want to 'over ride" plesk's control of nginx.conf file --- it doesn't appear I can do what I want to do.
2)...
Plesk goes against one of the pitfalls and does what nginx says is wrong:
For setting the domain option: none, www, or non-www, plesk is doing this:
if ($host ~* ^domain\.com$) {
rewrite ^(.*)$ http://www.domain.com$1 permanent;
}
but it should be like this (use 2 server directives)...
Thanks Peter...
:) I've seen that pitfall page before... but today, I can read it an "understand" more of it :) YEAH I'm learning!!!
I've not done a good job of explaining what I'm trying to do with OP. Let me try again:
a) I have WP installed at the root of a domain and all is good...
this is my goal, see OP:
these are working:
this happens by default (all nginx) - PROXY MODE is OFF, no htaccess files
domain.com/test-page/ = wordpress perm link (POST NAME)
domain.com/ = wordpress home page
domain.com/sub/index.php = my own subfolder and custom php page
the 2 urls below...
thanks, but I would not call it "another website"...
think of it this way (its all just php pages)
domain.com/sub/ = I control via rules being seen 1st and if not match... let WP get it.
domain.com/ = WP controls
The problem I see (but could be wrong) is,
in the vhost nginx.conf file, you...
