How can I block Port 25 for outgoing mail?

Woah, doing that effectively kills your server's ability to resolve hostnames. The impact of doing that will probably kill a lot more than you like... (And it won't block mail sent to IP addresses instead of hostname.)

Question about critical security update MU21

I don't think we're meant to interpret this as Parallels having shipped software with malware in it, but that the update removes a known piece of malware that apparently has gotten installed on some servers which allows access without authentication.

    Looking for mailmng documentation

Let's say I'm a developer wanting to add a custom mail handler, where would I go for documentation then?

    Looking for mailmng documentation

No, it isn't. /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/mailmng --add-handler --help does explain the different options and possible values involved, but it's not clear to me what they do, what the expected output of a mail handler executable is, etc. Why was there documentation on custom mail handlers for...

    Looking for mailmng documentation

I've tried to locate some definitive documentation on Plesk 11 custom mail handlers, but failed quite miserably. The documentation for Plesk 8.2 has some information, but is outdated of course: http://download1.swsoft.com/Plesk/Plesk8.2/Doc/plesk-8.2-unix-mod-guide/38612.htm...

    Pleask 10 downgrade?

Plesk 8 is no longer actively maintained and will reach end of life on September 1, 2012: http://www.parallels.com/products/plesk/lifecycle I would advice against going with Plesk 8 on a new server at this time. The 'Serving Your Customers and Employing Resellers' chapter in the...

    CentOS packages safe to update/upgrade?

I recommend subscribing to the announce mailinglist for the OS versions (and any other third party software) you're using, so you'll know when critical or relevant updates are released. For CentOS go here: http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos-announce

    Introduction of PHP 5.4

I'd update the configuration file when updating the software itself, not before (or after) that. I don't see the benefit of using a configuration file that's intended to be used with another version of the software than the version installed. I'd just find that confusing and regard it as a...

    php53-sqlite2 64-bit missing on CentOS

Ah, so there is a 64-bit php53-sqlite2 package. I haven't tried recently, but the 32-bit php53-sqlite2 package was what got installed on 64-bit servers. I hope that's fixed now.

    php53-sqlite2 64-bit missing on CentOS

There is no php53-sqlite2 package in RHEL5. The 32-bit version that gets installed comes from Parallels.

    Introduction of PHP 5.4

What is the point exactly of not upgrading PHP to 5.4, but only using its configuration file? Note: PHP 5.4 brings significant changes. Features like register_globals, magic_quotes and safe_mode are no longer available for instance, which might break sites depending on them. I'd do a lot of...

    CentOS packages safe to update/upgrade?

You're safest if you install all updates.

Plesk Migration Manager: vhost_ssl.conf not migrated

We have recently migrated multiple servers from Plesk 9.5.4 to new servers running Plesk 10.4.4. The vhost.conf files for domains that had those in their conf folder were migrated, but vhost_ssl.conf files were not, which required us to manually migrate these files. This sounds like a bug in the...

Plesk Migration Manager: PHP safe_mode settings for domains not migrated

We have recently migrated multiple servers from Plesk 9.5.4 to new servers running Plesk 10.4.4. The PHP safe_mode settings for the migrated domains were not transfered to the new servers, so we had to set PHP safe_mode for the domains again on the new servers. This sounds like a bug in the...

new awstats version in 10.4.4 #13

Maybe MU#13 and the new AWStats package are separate technically, but when I run the autoinstaller to update from Plesk 10.4.4 MU#12 to MU#13 AWStats 7.0 comes along. I would have expected at least an update to 10.4.5 for that.

new awstats version in 10.4.4 #13

The AWStats update is not mentioned in the changelog for 10.4.4 MU#13 though: http://kb.parallels.com/en/113187 And why are new versions of packages introduced in micro updates? Please don't do this. I expect micro updates to fix bugs, not introduce new versions of packages with lots of...

    Server-side filtering with sieve

I once requested this feature for Plesk 9, but sadly it was never implemented: http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=102776 It's still my number 1 feature request indeed, so here's a +1.

    Server-side mail filtering

You can use the rules supported in specific webmail/desktop/mobile clients, but sadly there is no server-side support for mail filtering at the moment, so if you're using multiple clients, you'll have to configure the same rules in all of them.

    Server-side mail filtering

This feature hasn't been added to Plesk yet as far as I know.
