• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Access to the server over SSH : forbidden to /bin/sh -- IS IT SAFE ?

A.Chakery

Basic Pleskian
Hello,

Since one of my scripts was not working fine I came up with enabling " Home>Subscriptions>tld>Websites & Domains>Web Hosting Access = > Access to the server over SSH : forbidden to /bin/sh "

Would you please tell me if it is safe or not ?

Thank you

IMO give ssh access to subscription user is not safe by default
This is a Dedicated server and all websites hosted on this server are mine .. is it still a bad idea to do that ?

The reason which I that I enabled this option is WHMCS Cronjobs ... If I do not enable it Cronjobs and the get command won't work.

Does anyone have any solutions for that ?

Thank you
