  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Additional Admin permissions question.

I was really looking forward to upgrading to 8.3 from 7.6.1 because of the additional administrator accounts feature, but kinda disappointed that you can't modify permissions on what they see.

I have never given out the admin account to anyone because they have the ability to shutdown/reboot or even worse they have the potential to delete every client and domain on the server with a few clicks of the mouse.

I want them to have access to all clients and domains so they can modify limits/permissions and any other small changes that they can't do without admin access.

Is there anyway I can set something like this up?

You can specify additional admin account and allow only limited set of operations

Sorry, i don't think i follow. How can I do this?

As far as I can see/read. You can't specify permissions on the admin user. They simply can't do the following:

View and manage additional Administrator accounts belonging to other users
View and manage Plesk Administrator account settings
Clear Action Log

To be more clear, i know how to create a client user, and have them able to administer their own account, but I wanting an admin user, who can view and modify all clients on the server, and start/stop/restart services etc. I just don't want them to be able to shutdown/reboot the server or even worse delete all clients. Can this be done?

Unfortunately it is impossible yet. However this feature is scheduled for future versions.
