This might belong in the 3rd party software forum, but this is more of a question about the plesk updater.
I noticed that Swsoft rarely updates their application vault. As far as I understand, the purpose of the vault is so that we can repackage the 3rd party applications that we choose for our Plesk clients. We recently removed some apps due to security issues, and updated the ones that we decided to keep. We plan on allowing our users to easily install these packages, but we do not want to lose clients because of vulnerabilities within these 3rd party open source apps. My question is; is it possible for my updated applications to be accidentally updated by the plesk updates? I still have about 1/4 of the applications that came with the vault and I would like them to update those, but not the ones that I have updated manually. I noticed that in the psa database that the 'id' field in the 'SiteAppPackages' table is autoincremented. When I manually updated the packages I made sure the packages kept the same id. I wonder if I should let the database generate a new id for my updated packages and leave the default app vault packages with the old id so that when the Plesk updater tries to update it, it can. Or is it ok to just delete the package and leave that id unused? I don't understand how the updater works, the 'id' field might not even be a factor. Any help would be appreciatied?
