Applications pools failing after inactivity...

As there is no way to report a bug to Plesk if I don't buy 400$ support from them (I don't need suport, I need bug report!) I am writing here although nobody will read this from Parallels :-(((

Before I wrote you this ticket I have tested Plesk CP 8.6.0.5 on MANY Windows 2008 servers, new and old installs, everytime it is the SAME... On windows 2003 32 bit there is no such problem.

The problem is immediately after Application pool shuts from inactivity, it crashes. So the Plesk control Panel crashes every five minutes and others also. Event viewer is full of the crashes. As the error I get is a HEAP error in w3wp.exe process it should mean one of the Plesk ISAPI or dll's is making heap memory leak.

Are you aware of this error and could you tell me which component is not working OK with IIS7 and/or 64-bit OS?

Example application error:

Faulting application w3wp.exe, version 7.0.6002.18005, time stamp 0x49e023cf, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6002.18005, time stamp 0x49e03824, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x000ab0bf, process id 0x13e4, application start time 0x01ca5002dbd2f744.

In system at that time the application pool first shut down:

A worker process with process id of '5092' serving application pool 'xxx.net(domain)(2.0)(pool)' was shutdown due to inactivity. Application Pool timeout configuration was set to 5 minutes. A new worker process will be started when needed.

and after that:

A process serving application pool 'xxx.net(domain)(2.0)(pool)' terminated unexpectedly. The process id was '5092'. The process exit code was '0xc0000374'.

I have the same problem on two of my win2008 servers. Inactivity of application pools crashes, and also inactivity of Plesk control panel shows as a crash in the event viewer.

I could not solve why crashes and not just securely shutdowns the applications pools.

But this does not hard anything, well it seems like, I hope we won't have any important problem in near future.

If anyone knows about this problem please let us know. Thanks.

YOu can minimise the problem I see so that Plesk Control panel pool and the default pool are set to 8 hours of inactivity or 24 hours instead of 5 minutes, so one can get error once a day instead of every 5 minutes...

One server 2008 doesn't do this? Is it 64-bit? I think it is 32-bit, am I right?

What about non problematic servers, are they 32 or 64 bit?

jerry2,

Regarding this topic and your private message to Sergius I can say that we have already submitted bugreports to developers (ID 151026 and 150536 for your reference). This problem was actual not only for Plesk version 8.x but for versions 9.x too on 64 bit w2k8. As result stability was seriously improved in Plesk version 9.2.3 You can see it here http://download1.parallels.com/Plesk/PPP9/Windows/9.2.3/plesk-9.2.3-for-windows.htm

Also for Plesk 8.6.x you can try to replace original plesksrv.exe with attached. (Do not forget create backup of original file just in case :)) Not sure that it will completely help but it can be.

Thank you Igor, I'll try it... Unfortunately I can not use plesk 9.x as you removed the way to make exceptions from the backup program. I can not say the backup not to backup folder source any more nor can I decide not to backup the .png files I have and that would make my site backup 30GB instead of 4 :-( I am buying SUS but I can not upgrade because of this :-( I hope you return the missing functionality from 8.x.

Yes I know I could make all my files that I don't want to backup reside on different domain, but this is a lot of work as my site is HUGE :-(

I tried new pleskhandler and still I get app pool crash whenever the pool exits due to recycle or timeout :-(

The same issue is happening with 9.3.x

Hi there!

I have the same problem that the first post.

A process serving application pool 'PleskControlPanel' terminated unexpectedly. The process id was '5808'. The process exit code was '0xc0000374'.

Faulting application w3wp.exe, version 7.0.6002.18005, time stamp 0x49e023cf, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6002.18005, exception code 0xc0000374

I have windows 2008, Plesk 9.3.0. IIS7 and all of my clients configured as FastCGI in PHP setting to avoid the php bug that comments in others post. But now the problem appears again and with one domain.

There´s no update to plesksrv.exe for this version of plesk david/igor??
Thanks in advance.

Similar problem with Plesk 9.3

I'm running my website on win2K, Plesk 9.3, and IIS7 and receiving a similar error in my application event log. Here is the text of the message:

Faulting application w3wp.exe, version 7.0.6002.18005, time stamp 0x49e023cf, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6002.18005, time stamp 0x49e03824, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x000ab0bf, process id 0x3268, application start time 0x01cafe902bcb4f07.

Same problem with 9.5.1

We're having same problem with almost every site in our server in Windows 2008 Web Server (spanish version) with Plesk 9.5.1:

Aplicación con errores w3wp.exe, versión 7.0.6002.18005, marca de hora 0x49e023cf, módulo con errores ntdll.dll, versión 6.0.6002.18005, marca de tiempo 0x49e03824, código de excepción 0xc0000374, desplazamiento con errores 0x000ab0bf, Id. de proceso 0xd28, hora de inicio de la aplicación 0x01cb2dec635f78c1.

Any thoughts?
